There’s a myth running around in certain circles that the minute you start going bald, your life is supposedly over and it’s all downhill from there. Well, the truth is that going hairless isn’t the end — it’s just the beginning.
Celebrities who shaved their heads are the perfect example that a bald head doesn’t diminish someone’s beauty. In fact, sometimes it even enhances it. To show you that everything’s all right with going bald, Bored Panda compiled a list of photos showing stars before and after they shaved their heads.
Scroll down, upvote the celebrity photos you enjoyed looking at, and share this list with your pals. Let us know in the comments below what you think of famous people with shaved heads and how you perceive people who have gone bald.

Well - yeah.. it helps if you already have pure aesthetic genetic win going for you... I mean... look at those eyes....

Some would argue that a shaved head is far from the same thing as going bald. Especially if you’re one of the popular celebrities because a large chunk of stars tends to often undergo drastic hair makeovers: they dye their hair, they add extensions, they curl it, etc. Eventually, the only novel thing left to do when talking about celebrity hairstyles is to shave it off.
Bryan Cranston
Danai Gurira
Colin Farrell
Celebrities tend to draw more attention without any hair on their noggin. Most of all if they’re female. For example, in 2005, Natalie Portman shaved her hair for her role in the movie V for Vendetta: the scene had to be done in one take, so there was a lot of pressure on everyone to do their best.
“With hair, I can camouflage with people [but] as a female with a shaved head, people tend to stare just naturally," Portman told MovieWeb.
Brianna Hildebrand
Justin Timberlake
Ummm. There's about 15 years between these two pictures. He did shave his head in the 90's, while still in NSYNC, and looked like a total goofball.
Jared Leto
While some people tend to make fun of bald people (they obviously have nothing better to do with their lives), scientists have noticed some interesting trends related to how we perceive power and status.
Natalie Portman
I think shes beautiful in both, but it is the smile that makes her stunning in the first, not the Hair!
Cate Blanchett
Millie Bobby Brown
USA Today writes that researchers from the University of Pennsylvania determined that bald men appear more dominant, taller, and stronger. The study also notes that shaved heads “are often found on men in traditionally masculine professions, so dominance may emerge through stereotypical associations with these figures.” Do you think there’s any weight to these findings, dear Pandas? Share your thoughts on these cool haircuts with everyone.

At least hair grows back. His prince charming curls shall not be forgotten
Daniel Radcliffe

Kristen Stewart
she goes from feminine android with no emotions, to androgynous android with no emotions.
Hugh Jackman

He's an AMAZING a*****e. The attraction you may feel from his looks will ssurely disapear once you read his "lyrics". Despicable human being. In Spain he was even expelled from a festival due to his music being way to mysonogistic and sexist.
Cara Delevingne
Channing Tatum
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
This would have been comforting to see just before I lost my hair during cancer treatment. As it started to grow back woman would approach me and say, "I love your hair cut, I wish I had the courage to do the same!" My fuzzy head was not seen as weak and sick, but as a sign of strength.
My dentist's receptionist was recovering from cancer treatment and I blurted out "Your hair is lovely!" and it made her so happy.
Load More Replies...This is a funny post just a few days after we had that posting of a hairdresser proposing that bald men should glue on wiggs to restore their self-confidence. ;)
To each their own. Some people are more comfortable with hair, some rock the baldness.
Load More Replies...When you are already a good looking celebrity, off course you can pull off a bald hairstyle :-/ For the majority of us normal human beings: going bald could have a very different outcome. PS: am I the only 1 missing Britney Spears in this list? ;-)
Ahhh, I see there is a new BP feature: shorter list based on upvotes, @uncommon boston my bad for not clicking/understanding. Clearly also not understanding how my initial comment can be transformed into: completely disliking all normal bald people(?!?!) 'interesting' how people's minds can work. Off course there are many beautiful, handsome & very attractive bald normal males & females, my comment was only directed towards already handsome celebrities. Maybe I should have illiterate my initial comment about normal people was more directed at myself, if I were bald: I would turn into an- old-short-male-goblin, which to me, on my persona, is actually funny. Because of my personal perspective I did not keep in mind all those people who actually were struggling with their baldness. Apparently I need to start posting a long disclaimer deeply describing my perspective on things. It is clear to me that people are becoming more sensitive by the freakin minute these days :-/ PS: when I see a post about bald celebrities I think: bald celebrities who are public figures & because of that can be ridiculed. When I see a post of bald normal people, I think in very different standards.
