Found This ~7 Month Old Kitty Hanging Around My Shop May 31st. Super Friendly With Everyone
Covered in grime, dirt, oil, etc. Decided to bring him home and let him live the life he deserves since he's a good dude
Grime, dirt, oil. THIS is why SOMETIMES cats need us to bathe them (for the Haters out there).
Fleas too. Our cat is a flea mobile and no amount of flea powder, spot on treatments or flea collars seem to help. So we stick him in a bath every couple of weeks.

People Won't Look When She Was On The Streets 2 Years Ago. Now They Are Amazed By How Much Beauty She Has To Offer
Is she deaf? Sorry to ask but every pure white cat I've met was deaf. My Gran pa had a beauty called Snowy, I know but I was 4 and I'd already names my cats Pig and Sidney Bacon. Do you see the theme ? It went on to sausages and porkandbeans. I have always given my cats unusual names and if I ever get another friend pick me I would probably go with Mr or Mrs/miss and a suitable moniker!
Yeah, many white cats with 2 blue eyes are deaf. This one looks like she's not pure white but a little bit orange/tan. So maybe she's not affected? Apparently white cats with 2 different colored eyes don't run as much risk of being deaf.
Load More Replies...What a gorgeous cat with such stunning eyes. Thank you for saving this sweet baby.
Some people are blind to the beauty under the neglect, and just don’t have the love it takes to undue it and bring the beauty out. They want perfection from day one, yet still don’t appreciate it.
It's important to understand, though, that the decision to adopt an animal-in-need has to be made after evaluating all of its consequences; sadly, part of why there are so many cats in shelters can be attributed to our own negligence.
According to Samira Coccon, who is a Rome-based cat behaviorist, among the reasons provided for giving up their cat, most people say they found out they themselves, or some other member of the household, are allergic to cat fur, or they are moving to someplace where they cannot take their pet with them.
However, "we know that the underlying truth is that more than half of the people who surrender their pets to shelters also report behavior or old age related issues," Coccon wrote.
Second Chance
One Year Of Good Care And Love
Was he a fightin’ man, trying to win the ladies? At least he has his teeth. Stress changes the pH of saliva and can destroy their teeth. My Fuzzy beast, a declawed Ragdoll spent too many years of her first 5 in shelters and her teeth were a mess when I adopted her. Don’t remove entire parts of cat’s toes- they’re toe walkers. Never declaw. She was maimed by the experience and relinquished 3 times. \
The Day They Were Found And 3 Years Later
The cats are what’s know as “muted calicos”. Calico cats are usually bright bold black, white, and orange. When they’re more gray, white, and peach, they’re muted.
And here you can see the process of cellular division where the kitten stretches into a log and then splits into two cats. Nature sure is beautiful.
"An estimated 4 million cats are euthanized in animal shelters every year in the world, while countless others become feral after being abandoned, doomed to die in car accidents, due to infections or not being really prepared to fend for themselves, as a consequence of starvation and hardships," the feline behaviorist explained.
"Education, information, a basic knowledge of a cat's needs, besides some true compassion, are paramount to the dedicated human who honestly wants to understand what adopting a cat involves, especially over time, and to dramatically reduce these impressing figures."
My Sweet Boy, Lez! He Was Half Dead, Found In The Snow In Brooklyn. I Got Him Off Of Craigslist Lol
I think it is a Domestic Longhair and it doesn't have the little ear tuffs like Maine C**n cats.

She Was Shaking Like A Leaf And Kept Burying Her Head In Our Arms
One month later, she climbs up on the counter to greet me with soft trills and purrs every morning. (She also loves the sink.)
Trills and purrs. Yeah, my cat has many different kinds of purrs, depending on his mood. His happy one is what we call his Chirpy Purr (really does have a slight chirping background to the purr sound).
I love the little trills. I call my one cat Trumpet Muppet.

That's a genius name, though. Don't want to do something? "Can't, sorry, I have a Doctor appointment."
We tend to assume that we know best. But much homework is needed as this line of thinking can lead to a warped understanding of what it actually is to own a feline.
"Some people make the assumption that cats, compared to dogs, are less demanding [and] that they can spend long hours, or even days alone, they do not need regular visits to the vet, and cannot be educated," Coccon said. "All these and other prejudices can lead us to adopt a kitten, only to find out, soon after, that they do need and deserve our care and attention."
Rabbit & Cricket, 1 Year Later
Glad to see the eye complaint cleared up, those can be nasty in kittens.

13 Year Old Pouncer Is A Hospice Foster Fail! He Was Neglected And Ignored After His Mom Died. I’m So Lucky To Give Him A Happy Home Until He’s Ready To Join His Mama On The Other Side
I have a friend who fosters old doggies in the last years of their lives. After one passes away she goes and saves another from having to die in a shelter. She's a good person - I'm not sure I could handle so much loss.
Load More Replies...I took in an older little lady from a horrible past, not sure the age, vet said maybe 15, amost 2 years ago. She was super scared and timid. Fast foward 2 days with us, and a love bug was born. She is almost blind and deaf, but so happy and loved. Sabrina is her name and she is speding her golden years very spoiled and loved.
Thank you so much for spoiling miss Sabrina! Give her an extra scritch from me if you don't mind 😊

You have a big heart. My heart breaks when I lose one of my babies. Bless you!
"Other people are not prepared for the inevitable changing of needs of a cat that is getting old or falls ill, they do not imagine that it is necessary to neuter them before they reach sexual maturity, or they do not even know that it is important, whenever possible, to learn beforehand something about our future pet’s personality, his 'playfulness, sociability, inquisitiveness and lifestyle' to facilitate the best human-pet match."
Coccon stresses that a basic knowledge of why cats behave the way they do allows us to prevent wrong expectations, disappointment, punishment, and, eventually, abandonment.
Five Years Ago I Fed A Stray Kitten, It Followed Me Home
I see that you continued to feed them, and now they’re a big ol’ chonk of beautiful cat!
I love how it was a scared skinny kitten then became a lazy blob on the last photo
My Handsome Boy Fry
That is a SIC (Standard Issue Cat, jokingly what people call brown tabbies). It's just a tabby-patterned domestic shorthair. (Tabby is a marking set, not a breed.) 99% of cats aren't a "breed"; cat breeds don't work like dog breeds do. Unless the kitty has papers and is a registered breed, it's just a moggy :)
Load More Replies...So much kindness in that smile, both you and Fry lucked out big time. He is so gorgeous.

That tail is majestic, and he is regal all over. He clearly is the master of all he surveys!
According to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the most pressing cat issue in the country is the large population of unsterilized outdoor cats.
"This results in many cats without permanent/conventional homes living in outdoor populations, quickly producing ongoing generations of cats," the organization explained. "These cats may be feral, meaning they do not willingly interact with humans, while some are semi- or formerly-owned, or otherwise friendly cats who have been lost or abandoned."

Your friend is a saint, bottle feeding a baby that young is no easy task
Bless you for your kindness and willingness to take care of that sweet little baby
You and your friend and those who work so hard for these amazing babies are just incredible. I could never foster or hand rear of end I not wanting to give any of them up. I also don't think I could cope with his poorly they are and that some may die ,it's not something I could ever get used to.

After Multiple Vet Trips And Looking For An Owner For A Few Months We Have Officially Adopted This Sweet Girl. She's Around 9 Years Old And Full Of Love And Head Bumps
Black cats are the last ones to get adopted out at shelters. Apparently superstitions about them still abound. Black animals in general are also subject to a variety of heinous acts. Double Blessings to those who rescue Voids. BTW, my last two cats have been black cats. I love me some Voids.
Head bumps are the best. I get one off my floof-ball every time I feed him. Then he meow's a wee thank you afterwards. Too cute.
Hank Was A A Heartworm & Fiv+ Feral Cat Living On The Streets. After Three Years, He’s My Office Cuddle Buddy
So this cat looks like a TNR (trap, neuter, return) by the tip of the left ear cut off. They only return them because they are too feral to be adopted. This sweet boi was either returned on accident or realized the street life wasn't for him anymore and found the perfect human.
We have a TNR, but a female. (TSR?) She was living with a homeless man in his car. When he finally found an (affordable) apartment, they didn't allow cats, so he had to give her up. She snuggles with my 7yo daughter every night, and puts up with my 3yo boy's roughness. Such a sweet girl.

He looks exactly like my mom's cat Loki, a foster fail who was found in the rain with his 3 siblings at the age of 3 weeks. all were healthy and were adopted after about 2 months. Adopted The “Grumpy” Shelter Kitty. Only 11 Days Later, And He’s So Much More Vibrant And Has The Cutest Personality! So Proud Of His Progress… He Just Needed A Home
I’d be grumpy too if I was relegated to life in a shelter. Every animal absolutely DESERVES a loving and secure forever home of their own.
Before And After (12 Weeeks Later). Kartoshka Cat
Was the nose injury an accident or did someone do this to him on purpose? And I hope it’s just the lighting that makes him look blue in the before picture, and not someone actually using dye on him to mark him as a bait cat for dogfighting or some other heinous activity (because then my Louisville Slugger and I would have to start tracking them down and beating the ever-lovin’ F**K out of them——I’m not a violent person by nature, but hearing about or witnessing cruelty pisses me off just so much you could almost consider it a trigger. I just see red and want to exact vengeance on some p**s-poor excuses for humans—-scratch that—INhumans, who are wasting my goddamned oxygen by continuing to draw breath.)
According to OP, the cat cut themselves on a tin can.

He looks like my void, Jack. If he also weighs 15 lbs. he’s Jack’s brother from another mother. (Jack isn’t part Maine C**n or Norwegian Forest Cat. In fact, he was the teeny-weeny runt of his litter. He just has had a bottomless pit for a stomach his whole life, and it triggered his growth into a big big boy.)
My Sweet Emcee The Day I Found Her, A Few Weeks Later With Her Little Ones, And The Whole Happy Family A Few Months Later
Looks like it. Being covered in kitties (and cats, and puppies, and dogs, and bunnies, and…well, you get the idea) sounds like a little piece of heaven right here on Earth, to me. Also notice, in the before picture, how Mama Cat was so thin she didn’t even look pregnant. Lucky lucky lucky Mama and all the kittens made it.

Oh they all, cats and dogs, sure know when they’ve fallen into something good. It’s just that some humans are huge a******s, so finding a good one who will love and protect them, without a million stupid conditions, is the true endgame. I, for one, am happy to have give, and still give, that kind of unconditional love and protection to all my animals, past and present, and fully intend to continue doing so for the rest of my life. Believe me, the rewards you reap from the animals far far far exceed the (incredibly effortless) effort it takes to love and protect them.

My Joanna adopted me too. I was visiting the ranch she lived at (and was abused at), and she came up to me and followed me the entire time I was there. I think she sensed that I was a human who loved cats and who could bring her somewhere safe. Her greatest desire was to be an indoor cat who owned her home and her humans.
Load More Replies...I don't have a before picture of my Joanna living outside and abused at the ranch where I found here. But here she is in all her kitty glory, the rightful queen who is completely spoiled and adored by her human guardians who she owns. 5-640656faa3b66.jpg
I adopted 2 Sphynx cats 6 years ago. They didn't get on with my (also adopted) sphynx already in residence. When I (reluctantly) put them up for adoption again, the original owner contacted me and we backtracked where they'd been. Turned out I was owner #5 or #6. They were just over a year old when I got them. The ad came down that very moment. I was going to make it work, no matter what. I still have all 3, there are still fights, but we deal. It took Jezzy almost 2 years before she would cuddle.
Your effort and patience paid off. Worth it, I know.
Load More Replies...Most cat people have the cats find them somehow, I have only adopted one out of the many cats I’ve had who just found me off the streets randomly. My mini kitty will be 14 next Valentine’s Day, I found her in a tree as a very young kitten and she just found my house a few weeks later one day and moved in, a lot more to it, but she chose me. The saddest one I found was in cardboard box on the side of the road in Perth with dead kittens, only two survived, I took one boy and the other one (little girl) had to be surrendered due to health being so bad, rspca wouldn’t let me take her when I brought the box in.
I have been rescuing and shooting stray cats—-and even a stray dog!—-my entire adult life. Just like people who have had thought times in their lives, rescued strays truly love you, and appreciate getting to have safe, secure, incredibly loved lives—-way longer lives than if they’d been left on the streets (living well into their teens in a good home, instead of only a couple hard years by themselves on the streets). Don’t pass them by when you see them on the street. If they don’t look fed and cared for, they’re homeless strays who need our help.
