Beetlejuice Sequel’s Trailer Releases, And Fans Are Thrilled To See Michael Keaton: “[He] Hasn’t Changed A Bit”
After three and a half decades, fans of Tim Burton’s cult hit Beetlejuice have received the newly released trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
Michael Keaton is reprising his role as Beetlejuice along with Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara, who are also revisiting their characters, Lydia and Delia Deetz, in the Burton-directed sequel.
The cast list will feature some new faces in the sequel, including Wednesday star Jenna Ortega, who is stepping into the shoes of the character Astrid, Lydia’s daughter.
Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, and Willem Dafoe will also be appearing in the film.
The trailer was showered with praises, with fans especially thrilled by Michael return as Beetlejuice
Fans could not get over how Michael slipped back into the role of Beetlejuice as if he “hasn’t changed a bit.”
“Michael Keaton’s enthusiasm when he says ‘The Juice is loose.’ That smile and character from him looked like it hasn’t changed a bit, incredible,” read one comment on the trailer while another wrote, “The dude has not been playing this character for 36 years and in one sentence makes me nostalgic and extremely happy to see him.”
“As an 80’s kid, I have NEVER been so excited for a movie in my life! This trailer is so good! I can’t wait!!” said another comment.
Another wrote, “I can’t believe the ghost with the most is back ,and I’m so glad Michael Keaton, and Wynonna Ryder are reprising their roles. Keaton clearly hasn’t lost touch with his character even after 36 years.”

The original movie was released back in 1988. This time around, the story picks up decades later, with a death in the family stirring things up, director Tim said.
“That’s all I will say,” Tim told Entertainment Weekly. “There’s something that happens that sets things in motion.”
Tim showered Michael with praises as he spoke about how the actor effortlessly slipped back into his role. It felt like a “weird out-of-body experience” to see Michael back in the Beetlejuice costume and makeup, Tim said.

“He just got back into it,” the director told the outlet. “It was kind of scary for somebody who was maybe not that overly interested in doing it. It was such a beautiful thing for me to see all the cast, but he, sort of like demon possession, just went right back into it.”
Tim also noted that he and Michael, over the years, have had conversations about a Beetlejuice sequel.
“Unless it felt right, he had no burning desire to do it,” Tim said. “I think we all felt the same way. It only made sense if it had an emotional hook.”

Fans were ecstatic to finally see the director come out with a sequel for the cult classic.
“I’M SCREAMING,” one said after the first look of the characters were released. Another chimed in, “SCREAMING AND CRYING!!!!”
“This already looks very promising! If only it could be out any sooner!” said another comment.

Another wrote, “The way my jaw dropped! I AM SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!”
Commenting on the intriguing personas of the actors, one social media user said, “THEY ALL LOOK INCREDIBLE”
“Damn, Keaton looks exactly the same!! Hype train,” another wrote.
Fans said they were both “excited” and “nervous” for the film’s release
Since Jefferey Jones is not returning to reprise his role, my guess is it's Charles Deetz's death they are referring to.
