34 Beautiful Interiors In Abandoned Homes That Will Leave You Wondering What Happened
I love exploring and photographing abandoned buildings. However, villas - castles - mansions - houses are amongst my favorite types of locations to visit. In these photos, I've tried to capture the hidden architecture of some of the most beautiful abandoned homes in Europe.
Be mesmerized by uniquely designed staircases, details in a room where you would never expect it, or the most dreamy view outside of the window. These places are old, very old. They carry so much history with them, and I feel privileged to have been able to photograph them.

What a shame those are all abandoned!! Maybe I should try harder at winning the lottery and get me one of those
These places are ideal locations for students studying Art, Architecture, Historical Décor,.... the list is endless. The students could be restoring these places as part of their final year thesis, etc. Not only could they be learning, but also contributing to restoring theses places to their final glory. Imagine what the tourism sector could gain?
Is it just me going through these pictures and wondering why the government is allowing these beautiful buildings to be left abandoned when they could so easily allow people to live in them and restore them, rather than letting them fall into disrepair? I for one would absolutely *love* the chance to do up just one of these rooms and make them beautiful again!
Hey, could you write names of places where you found these buildings? Thanks ;)
I know it would cost a bundle, but take out a loan, fix it up and rent out the rooms to tourists for big money. These places are gorgeous!
These are so beautiful. What a talent. Thank you for preserving these stunning places - even if only on film. Thank you for sharing.
I have a couple of stories and in-depth history on my blog over on my website :)
Load More Replies...Fantastic! On my photo bucket list is definitely to meet up with people like yourself (the keepers of the secret maps) to capture amazing places like this. Good luck finding gems like this in Canada. Some of these buildings are probably older than my country (1867). When I see them I don't feel sad, nor have an urge to restore them. I think they're great just the way they are.
