A few days ago, Mark Hough from Altadena, California set out to enjoy a margarita in his backyard but an uninvited guest interrupted his plans. “So I got up, looked over in the bushes and lo and behold there’ a bear climbing up over my fence,” Hough told the Associated Press. Intrigued by the surroundings, the beast instantly abandoned whatever plans it had and decided to have some fun instead.

Like a sane human being, Hough retreated inside after spotting the bear. Later, however, he noticed the furry intruder enjoying itself in his jacuzzi. Hough probably realized no one would believe his story, so he recorded video. The footage shows the bear bubbling in the unheated hot tub, playing with the chlorinator and tossing the thermometer in the air. “He was playing having a grand old time,” the man added.

Then it “popped out of the bushes, walked right over to the margarita, knocked it over and lapped it,” Hough said. Once cool and boozed, the creature took a break. When Hough was talking to a neighbor, some oak leaves fluttered to the ground. The man looked up and saw the bear resting in the tree. “So he had his margarita, he had his Jacuzzi, and now he’s ready for a <…> nap,” Hough said.

According to the homeowner, the bear ultimately hustled away down the street. After the encounter, he made himself two margaritas to make up for the one he lost to the intruder. “It was an interesting Friday to say the least,” Hough said.
