I live in cougar, wolf, moose, deer, etc country. Hunters abound and when one rolls his atv over and dies of hypothermia, it's a joy to read about.

Yes, you are right they are in the LC spectrum and I failed to notice. I am not familiar with bear population and distribuition, never studied them during my masters or PhD in Ecology. Also, I could not find specific info about the pop in Belarus, only a 2012 article showing a decline in the population. Either way there are countries that do allow killing of endangered species, my post is about all of them. But if you want to know, the killing of top predators in general is not a smart move, being them endangered or not. If you disagree you are welcome to look up articles about it. I had a few articles about the subject in some folder in my pc but wont go try to find them now for you. I do understand if there might be any specific situation where that is not the rule, but have never seen studies pointing that way. Not my main field of study, but I welcome any interesting articles.
