Shakshuka! When There's Leftover Matbuha (A Spicy Tomatoes Past) From Sabbath, That Is My Go On Sunday Morning Aside With Israeli Salad And Toast
One of my favorite things about my trips there. First had shakshuka at The King David hotel in my first visit with a tour group, they had a buffet there, for lack of a better term. Had it, fell in love. So much flavor and it's really healthy too! And it's relatively easy to make!
I discovered shakshuka a couple of years ago, and now i make it all the time during tomatoe season.
I feel like I want to buy from Tostito's with lime and some sour cream and go to town, lol. The eggs look like melted cheese.

Borscht (I Am Ukrainian!)
To convince him to eat it, my grandfather used to tell my brother this is made with bear's blood, knowing he'd relish the adventurous aspect.
Calvin's mom told him the stuffed bell peppers were stewed monkey brains.
Load More Replies...I have a spicy recipe, which calls for celery, red bell pepper, mushrooms and apples along with the beets. The spices include cumin.
Oh I looove borscht so freaking much and will gladly welcome and love if anyone would like to share their recipe with me
Steak And Fries
I think maybe it is because dishes like that seem like they lack the cultural aspect.

Please feed me. Another love of mine 🥰 one of the nice things about where I live in New York is that we have so many international family run restaurants and I have the privilege of trying amazing dishes.
Has anyone ever fried a pierogi like a potsticker? I love potstickers so whenever I see these they look uncooked. I just want to fry them in a pan and make a dipping sauce.
A Typical Northern German Dish: Green Cabbage With Potatos Plus Pork Belly And A Sausage, Both Smoked And Cooked
My great grandmother was from Germany so I'm required by law to try this. I can't go breaking laws (God I'm so hungry right now)
There's this part of me that wishes I could love pork belly. I love Top Chef and they make it all the time and act like it's amazing but when I look at this, I just see undercooked, soggy bacon, lol.

Hutspot - Is A Typical Dutch Winter Dish. It Is Made By Boiling Potatoes, Carrots And Onions Together And Then Mashing The Whole Into A Stew
I thought this was scrambled eggs at first. My grandfather is french and we always had a french thanksgiving, and he always made this carrot, onion and yam mash that my family loved. This reminds me of that a little bit.

Badische Küche (Black Forest, South Of Germany)
This is Rehgulasch (venison goulash) with Pfifferlinge (chanterelles), Spätzle (a type of pasta), and Preiselbeermus (cranberry sauce) - three quarters food from the forest.
Again, by law I'm obligated to try this dish. It looks amazing and I'm starting to drool
Me too, nothing beats home made spätzle made from fresh dough! It tastes even better than any italian pasta I’ve tasted.

Crepes! From The U.s, My Favorite Breakfast Food Is Crepes. It's Best With Fruit, And Is A Weekend Tradition :)
Pancakes are made in many different countries, with slight alterations
Load More Replies...Yuuum. I wish the crepe place near us (Charlotte, NC) hadn't closed, they had great crepes and coffee.
If they're made right. I hate it when people make "crepes" but they turn out spongy. They're basically thin pancakes at that point. It's not the same!
Load More Replies...To each their own, of course, but I feel like I'm the only woman in the US who doesn't like crepes. It's like pumpkin spice. Some woman are really just obsessed with crepes. And like pumpkin spice, I hate them. I don't get the appeal. It's like a thin wrapper that has no flavor stuffed with sweet stuff or too much fruit. Give me a nice omelet or some toast, sausages, bacon, english muffins, or real pancakes over this anytime. Now I want breakfast for dinner.

mmm I love mung beans- or bean sprouts as they're called, too. I could just eat this whole bowl. I wish the noodles were a little wider but... looks delish.
Awww yes we called it bean sprouts in Malaysia. As for the noodle, most of the time they'd use rice vermicelli, however, you can always request to change it to flat noodles or yellow noodles according to your preference.

Load More Replies...Shrimp And Grits
What are a grits? I mean I know what is is but I wanna ask people who eat them...what does it taste like? Is it like oatmeal? Cream of wheat? I have the same question about polenta. I can't get either of those products at any restaurants where i live but i see you can buy it in stores to make it yourself. I just looks like cream of wheat to me. I actually love cream of wheat so maybe I'd like this but it isn't something i'd want to eat with meat or fish. I'm so food-sheltered!
It's ground corn meal I think. It's a food originally eaten by native Americans and passed to Europeans that came to America.
Load More Replies...I can't have shrimp because we keep kosher (and an allergy, though a mild one), so I use vegan shrimp for it! It works pretty well!
Load More Replies...Grits are a type of porridge made from boiled cornmeal. Hominy grits are a type of grits made from hominy – corn that has been treated with an alkali in a process called nixtamalization, with the pericarp removed. Grits are often served with flavorings as a breakfast dish. [plagiarized from Wikipedia]. Frequently served with just butter and salt [army breakfast].

Corned Happily
I'm sorry for not mentioning the location earlier. But since I'm awake now I'll say it. This is eaten in the northern part of Nigeria, especially the north east. Its not a very common dish. Its for the 'poor'. Because here the average Poorman can't afford rice. Therefore corn or maize is cooked with beans in place of rice and eaten with whatever condiments available.
are those kidey beans..... i made this last week but what is the veggies on top..... what are they
Yes kidney beans I think, those things on top are onions 😂.
