Few jobs look cooler on a business card than "Official White House Photographer." But that's precisely the job of Pete Souza, the professional photographer who's spent the last eight years documenting Barack Obama's daily life in the Oval Office.
"When you add up (the president's) day, and all the things that I photograph, I take a lot of cool photos," said the photographer in a short interview for BBC Newsnight. "Someone in my office who monitors this said that I'd probably end up taking, at the end of eight years, two million photographs."
Souza, who was also Ronald Reagan's official photographer from 1983 to 1989, actually took his first pictures of President Obama back in 2005. "He's walking around Red Square, he's on a sidewalk, and nobody knows who he is," said the photographer. Just four years later, however, Obama was elected as the 44th President of the United States.

He might have had a hankering for a burger at 10 am, and the Secret Service checked out a place, but it's never "oh, let's go to this place" just on a whim.

I feel so frustrated that this is the most wholesome, genuine presidential family that are such a source of what America should aspire to be and yet they don't get the recognition and praise that they so deserve. You will be missed , thank you both for showing us what a class act is .

Margaret, you are so right. I will miss him and his whole family more than I ever thought I would. Such a lovely, caring, fun loving person, who has been carrying the weight of the world and does it with such grace and humility. I wish he could have been President longer.....

I have a friend who thinks Obama's a warmonger, which I don't get, but I still think he's very cool, and a genuinely nice guy who obviously loves kids and people. I'm from England, and I also think he's the best president you've ever had, (and if Trump gets in, he'll be the worst.)

Don't worry about Trump. People across the pond seem to be for some reason. We are not that crazy to allow this guy to become president. Obama's party, the democrats will put Hillary Clinton in office and Trump is just actually making it easier for us.

I literally almost cried at the thought that his presidency is almost over. I am pretty young, and Obama came at a time when I just started forming my own political opinions. He opened a new door for me as well as many others. He is a great president and person... I'll miss him.

I'd like to keep him forever. Just the thought of him in the White House gives me a feeling of comfort and peace. Sadly, he's leaving us soon and I dread what's going to replace him. I love my Pres. Obama.

President Obama.has restored my faith in politics. Apparently there are good politicians who truly care about helping people. I voted for him to be president twice and I'll vote for Hillary Clinton because my president knows it's the right choice.

Totally agree. He puts real meaning into being a politician when the rest are just being businessmen. Hillary will not be like him, but she's still the better choice than Trump.
