Photo Of Ballot Boxes Being Moved By 2 Senate Employees During Capitol Riots Is Going Viral For All The Right Reasons
These past couple of days, the whole world has been closely following the unprecedented and highly devastating events taking place in Washington, DC. As you probably already know, on Wednesday, the lawmakers gathered inside the US Capitol building to take the final steps before the inauguration of Joe Biden.
While Congress was certifying the electoral win, a mob of Trump supporters decided to force their way into the Capitol building demanding that the results of the latest presidential election be overturned.

“An assault on democracy,” is what soon-to-be-president Joe Biden called the rioters’ actions. “To storm the Capitol, to smash windows, to occupy offices on the floor of the United States Senate, rummaging through desks, on the House of Representatives, threatening the safety of duly elected officials. It’s not protest; it’s insurrection,” the president-elect added.
Overall, the building was occupied for three hours.

In the midst of evacuation, these female senate pages and chamber assistants captured in the photos decided to grab the ballot boxes containing electoral votes, so the rioters couldn’t get to them.

Photos capturing these quick-thinking women have been going viral on the internet, resulting in thousands of people praising them.
“Here are the women—Senate aides—who had the presence of mind and courage to transport and keep safe the electoral votes before fleeing the Senate. There will always be villains. There will always be heroes,” Twitter user RaeMargaret61 wrote in the description of her posts featuring one of the photos.

If these boxes had fallen into the hands of pro-Trump rioters, they would have most probably been destroyed. And even though it wouldn’t have changed the results of the latest presidential election, it would’ve definitely been a great disappointment for American democracy.

Dave Restler: Hey Honey, found the mouthbreather who can't think of anything creative and just drags out the same, tired trope because he’s too dumb to think of anything original. Go back to petting your confederate flag collection, sweetheart.
