I agree. But we rarely see ourselves as we are. I have a very skewed idea of my body because of bullying (incl by my own family) and I would probably have the same reaction.

And it's sad because if you do have a different body image people will keep telling you you look beautiful as you are but deep down inside you know it's all lip service because no one's sharing any glamor shots of women that look like you. That's what makes it all very hard to believe when people tell you you're fine as you are. It's technically true but it never feels genuine. Thus everybody still is trying to conform to the same body type regardless of their genetics.

Personally, I agree with you. I even gave you an upvote. However, you telling people to not feel a certain way about a situation that you both know nothing about? It isn't any better than what you're accusing Lakota of. You both have valid reasons for feeling the way that you do, and you guys are actually both thinking mostly the same thing, just with different wording. Let's just leave some people on the Internet alone.

It's sad some Indian women buy skin lightening cream to look whiter while while white girls pay a lot to tan their skin darker. Beauty is different to everyone.

not quite. what needs to change is how society treats fat people, but we absolutely should NOT change our views on whether being fat or losing weight is healthy. "you can be healthy at any weight" is complete & utter bs. the fact that anorexia is such a deadly disorder is proof that you cannot be healthy at every weight. the same is true in the opposite direction. once one's weight passes a certain threshold (which is different for everybody) they will experience health complications that worsen in severity until their quality of life is nonexistent & they die. obesity is deadly. losing weight isnt a bad thing. being fat is unhealthy. fat people are still people & deserve all the love in the world just like everyone else, but that doesnt change the fact that their weight is unhealthy. you wouldn't enable anorexia. don't enable obesity.

that's great and all but I'm pretty sure that being fat might be just a teensy bit unhealthy. after all, over 2.8 million people die from obesity every year.
