His complexion is simply naturally darker and of course the colour darkens in the summer because of the action of the sun. But a very pale person (like myself) don't get brown like that, even with Italian genes. We get slightly darker or just red (sigh). She clearly was trying to look more "latina" and ethnically ambiguous than what she is, because that was in fashion a few years ago. Now I'm noticing that the trend is slightly changing. Kpop is extremely popular and I'm guessing she's following the trend. Even the Kardashian are altering their (once ethnically ambiguous) appearance: they have apparently removed their butt implants, they're going blonde...

So Italians (including myself) weren't white in the nineties? LOL. Italian people consider themselves white. Sure, some might have a darker complexion than others, but we definitely don't identify as brown, let alone black. We are the result of hundreds of years of invasions and colonisation from Africa, Northern Europe and even Asia so obviously we are more "mixed" than other, more isolated populations. Anyway, which "history" are you referring to? The 1800? The Roman ages? Because to be frank we as homo sapiens are the descendants of the first specimens migrated from Africa so we are all technically black... That being said, I think you are influenced by the American 20th century view of Italians. Hordes of Italians, in the first half of 1900, migrated to the US, and they were considered 'not white' by them. But to be fair Americans considered Irish and Polish people as 'not white' so I suspect it's more linked to racism and poverty, rather than the colour of the skin...

Catherine Zeta Jones looks "latina" but she's Scottish. Models Carla Bruni, Eva Riccobono and Bianca Balti are Italians; are they not white?

She is italian so it is very possible for her to have very different skin tones based on the time of year. If my sister spends 10 min in the summer sun she is golden she spends half an hr she is darker than Ariana in that pic. But in the winter she is pale

She has a neutral or olive undertone, definitely not pink. I'm very pale with olive undertone which appears pink/grey in winter, but now I have a caramel mediterranean tan without any trace of pink. I don't believe her tan is natural though.

Again: no, it's not possible. Not at that level. Nobody who's pale like that can get to that shade of brown, just with a sun tan.

Don't I know it? I'm pale like Ariana in the first pic in winter and the best I can reach in summer is a lovely lobster red, no matter how much I stay under the sun. There's no way I could get golden or tanned, and don't even mention that chocolatey brown, that's just impossible.
