Car Crash Survivor Turns Her Back Brace Into Steampunk Armor

Maddie had to wear a back brace after her T12 vertebrae was fractured in a car accident. Thankfully, family friend and theatre group member Sarah helped turn the back brace into a piece of steampunk armor.

“My daughter didn’t like the brace she had to wear after surgery, so a friend helped her steampunk it,” mom Linda C. told EPBpt. “Best part, now folks are intrigued, and come up and ask why she has to wear it rather than just staring.”

My grandfather broke his back and had a to wear a brace similar to hers. I wish I had thought of something like this to do with the brace. He would have been so happy.
