I Turned A Baby Into A Zombie For His First Birthday
As a professional newborn and baby photographer, I’ve had some pretty “interesting” requests over the years as I’ve captured portraits of hundreds of tiny humans. But this one takes the cake… Brain cake.
We all know of the “Terrible Twos”, but has anyone heard of the “Undead Ones”? Neither had I. For my little client’s first birthday his parents requested a realistic zombie cake smash, complete with a custom brain cake. No makeup was involved, but lots of creative editing was needed to complete the vision.
While this zombie theme might be a little too dramatic and gory for some, this baby sure enjoyed every bite of his first birthday cake!
Side note: The grandma of this adorable one-year-old had just taught him “How big [are you]?” The answer of “So big! [insert quintessential arms up zombie pose]” ended up being the absolute best finale!

Mmm brain…
The eerily realistic brain cake… Complete with raspberry blood
Digging in…
Brain matter
Enjoying every bite
Zombie baby!
One… More… Bite…
Just minutes before… It’s amazing what some creative editing can do!

Share on FacebookNo this is not my son, this is one of my little clients :) His parents are so creative and every year come up with another fun theme for their children's portrait sessions with my studio.
Load More Replies...I'm sure posting this is going to have some of you getting your knickers in a knot, so before you have a go at me, this is my, I repeat my opinion which I am entitled to. I recently got criticized for a recent comment I made regarding a similar photo shoot involving children made up to look like zombies and I was inundated with negative comments, so this time I will respect your opinion and I will read your comments but I will refrain from getting into another debate on what children should be allowed to dress up like. My opinion is that children should be celebrated for their innocence and their beauty and not for props for their parents and I use the term loosely on this occasion, using their children as for their sick and twisted fantasies. Thank you.
He isn't "made up" to look like a zombie. He was in regular clothes (a tshirt and jeans), without any makeup, and I took pictures of him eating food and getting it all over his face (as all babies do due to their lack of fine motor skills, or their innocence, whichever you prefer to call it). The original images look just like a messy baby, so I can assure you that he wasn't harmed in the production of this fun little afternoon. I understand the power of editing can cause some people to think this was an actual zombie baby, but unfortunately he is just a normal child who likes to eat birthday cake.

Load More Replies...This is the most disgusting thing I've seen on Bored Panda. There are NO baby zombies or any other kind of zombies period. They are a fictional and a very disgusting thing period!!
Do you ever wonder if we are desensitising kids to blood and guts and all it entails. You have to remember that this all stems from adult horror shows. But I guess it's acceptable to screw their sense of right and wrong up because it's 'fun.' Yay!
As if a one year old knows what a brain looks like and cherry/strawberry/etc juices or jam or whatever look like this "blood" too and the kid probably won't ever mistake it for blood. It'll just remember a sweet tasting cake. IF ANYTHING...
