I became fascinated by sea turtles at an early age after witnessing a large number of baby sea turtles scurrying down a beach to the rolling waves early one morning in St. Lucia. They had just hatched and were now headed to the deep ocean. I remember thinking how tiny and venerable they were and now taking on such a dangerous solo journey called life. In these paintings, I tried to capture this exciting experience. I hope that my work can expose the beauty of sea turtles and awaken the viewer to loving and protecting this endanged species.
