Not sure what this cute little critter is? Then let us introduce you to the pangolin. They've been around for about 80 million years and they're the only mammals in the world that are covered in scales. Their tongue can be longer than their bodies and they can also let off a foul-smelling odor like skunks when in danger. The word 'pangolin' comes from the Malay word 'pengguling', which means "rolling up". This is a reference to the pangolin's habit of rolling into a ball like a pill bug whenever they feel threatened.
Unfortunately this makes them easy to capture, and it's estimated that 100,000 pangolins are caught and sold every year. Most of them get shipped to China and Vietnam where their meat and scales are sold for food and medicine. Because of this, all eight species of pangolin are now on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of animals threatened with extinction. You can learn more about them here.

Makes my eyes water. Precious creatures who need to be saved from poachers.
Brave and committed caretaker to give this awesome animal cuddles.
To be honest, I don't remember posting that comment. I would like to delete it......these baby Pangolins are adorable.
They are such odd creatures.......anteater tongue, possum shape head, human like ears, sloth claws, dragon scales, alligator tail, and yet they can still curl up like a potato bug. Mother Nature and her sense of humor-good one!
I hope this post does not encourage people to take these animals as pets (major problem in America) as they are dwindeling in the wild due to the pet trade & high demand for these beautiful animals <3
They're neat to look at, but they make terrible pets. They spray like skunks, dig like rabid terriers, and care not one iota for your sleep schedule.
Load More Replies...I will adopt as many as I can and regrow the population myself if I have to! They are so fricken adorable!!!
They are so cute. Leave it to China to eat them. The Chinese eat anything that moves. I am dead serious. What meat do you think is in Chinese Chow Mien? Chow dog. That's why we call it here CHICKEN CHOW MIEN. The have a festival where they eat nothing but dog all day and you can pick your dog out that you want for dinner like a lobster in America. You could buy me a ticket to China, pay for my Hotel and give me spending money and I would NEVER go to China. NEVER
