This one is really wholesome, I don't see anything wrong with it. But what I can see is people doing "nice stuff" for publicity though. You're completely right though, there's way too much negativity on TV, social media, etc. Wholesome stuff like this should be making headlines just as much as everything else.

Its all based on algorithms. Whatever we click will keep rebooting. I dropped into the comments here to say how tired of 'cancel culture' I am. The next article is about a vegan and tofu appropriation. More people will click on that over this, I'm not even going there. I mind my own, and am mindful of others. The algorithms therefore circulate the negative posts over the positive. It's unstoppable now, but just don't click on any negative posts and keep your brain safe from vicarious trauma.

the left don't want that. they want constant bad news, manufactured crisises and outrage over stuff that doesn't even matter, sensationalizing every story involving people of different races engaged in some kind of conflict, etc. anything to fan the flames of the neverending class war they created and want to keep raging in America forever.

On the other hand, why is it newsworthy when someone does WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD BE DOING ANYWAY? Someone being nice isn't newsworthy as much as breathing isn't newsworthy.

What, texting random strangers? Don't invite randoms and they won't come. It's pretty simple.

But they, unlike grandparents and parents, arrive, say a few words and know when to leave!

I guess that comes down to grandma handing out the room number to everyone on her phone. Those with the info need to be clearly told who they can share that info with. When I had my kid it was a couple of days before I saw anyone except her dad and the hospital staff. I'm recovering from surgery, bleeding all over the show and peeing into a bag. Not to mention trying to breast feed and bond with my child. What use are visitors? It's for their benefit, not yours.
