A friend had a neighbor making calls about nuisance noise. Here the one that is too loud has to pay 300€. The first time she did have guests and the guard wrote her a ticket, even though they admitted that they didn't hear the guests being too loud. Then there were several calls from the same neighbor and the guards wrote no tickets since they found no disturbance. The last time they called her on the phone and found that she was not at home. From that point, the neighbor had to pay for the tickets. Sadly it turned out that he had undiagnosed schizophrenia. The sounds were real, but only to him.

I was showing an apartment to a prospective tenant and we found a note that had been slipped under the door. A neighbor was complaining about the noise from guests going in and out all night and the constant partying. It was dated the day before. The apartment had been completely vacant for 60 days and was immaculate. My prospective tenant decided to look elsewhere for housing.

Something similar happened to me. I was in my early 20s and lived alone above a woman in her mid 40s and below a couple in their 30s. The couple used to get visits almost all weekends, partying until 3/4 am. Playing loud music, bongos, the whole nine yards. She ringed my bell once on a Sunday morning with a bag full of cigarettes buts and berated me for "smoking and throwing it out the window", I got the full "I'm an attorney and I will make your life hell, and etc etc". I politely replied "I don't even smoke", and again with the shouting and whatnot. Tried to remain calm and I told her "don't you think Is more probable that they came for the neighbors above me, I'm sure you heard the party last night..." More shouting and saying that I'm a liar and how is it possible the cigarettes buts ended up there, and again the "I'm a layer, bla bla bla". Final response "Once again, as I told yo before I DON'T SMOKE, and did you hear about smt called GRAVITY??" and closed the door in her face
