Even if I wasn't poor I would buy most of my clothes from the op shop (thrift store). It is pretty common where I live (except maybe in certain suburbs) for people (mostly women) to brag about the deals they have gotten from the op shop. I have a handbag shaped like a book that has gotten a lot of compliments and at least twice it has led to me chatting about deals from op shops with random women at the bar.

My Roomba threw a wheel. When I found out a new wheel would be essentially the cost of a new Roomba, I gave it away to be stripped for parts. Not buying another one of those ripoff machines.
