‘Awful Everything’ Online Community Shames World’s Worst People And Here’s 50 Of Their Most Hated Ones
When you’re scrolling through social media or reading the news, it can start to feel like there’s no good left on this planet. Hearing about terrible and devastating events can sometimes become a little overwhelming. But instead of keeping these feelings to ourselves, we can start a conversation online.
Awful Everything is a subreddit where more than 1.4M members share pictures about the worst of the worst. From stories about the healthcare system and financial troubles to abusive police officers, this community is shining a light on the struggles people face every day.
Bored Panda has collected some of the top-voted images from this online group, so continue scrolling. And if you’re feeling up to it, share your own experiences and thoughts in the comment section below.

I Wish ...humanity Changes
Aaron Tucker
Since 2014, the subreddit has been steadily growing and bringing our attention to the devastating things happening around us. From gruesome crimes to minor injustices, the community is dedicated to showing how bad our world can get. As the moderators say, “Lament with us as we view all things that are just genuinely awful.”
Sadly, we have a tendency to dwell on the things that go wrong and use stronger words to describe them. When it comes to the positive or neutral incidents, they seem to be not as important. Just think about negative stereotypes—humans are quick to form bad impressions and often have a hard time changing their views.
Poor Guy :(
These stories break my heart, they really do. So many people, SO MANY, are just one illness away from this happening to them. Our government has utterly failed us.
The Fact That This Is So Common Is Heartbreaking
Even if some of us have a rather optimistic view of life, people still remember more details about their unpleasant experiences. “The brain handles positive and negative information in different hemispheres,” Clifford Nass, a professor of communication at Stanford University, told The New York Times.
He said that negative emotions generally involve more thinking, and the information is processed more thoroughly than positive ones.
Psychologists refer to this as the negativity bias. Picture it: you’re having a pleasant day at work until your coworker throws you an inconsiderate comment. When you come back home, what will you remember more—the overall good day or the remark?
We Are All Spolied
Richest Country
Roy Baumeister, a social psychologist and co-author of The Power of Bad: How the Negativity Effect Rules Us and How We Can Rule It, said that it’s one of the most basic psychological principles that seems to be true everywhere.
“A mind is prone to overreact to negative things relative to positive things; so people can use this to manipulate us, or we can use this to manipulate other people,” he explained. “If we understand this, we can prevent some of the negative effects and improve the quality of our social life.”
Rest In Peace, Acab
I just don't understand how it is considered justified if he was shot in the back! How can someone be a threat with their back towards you? I really hope this case is properly handled and the officers are not only terminated from their jobs but also sent to prison/death row! May Darrien rest in peace.
The Power Of Hate
There are so many great folks left out of history. Leprosy used to be a disease that would kill or maim so many people through history until a 23-year old black chemist named Alice Ball came up with a cure in 1915. Unfortunately she died the next year due to an accident. Who knows what she could have accomplished? https://scientificwomen.net/women/ball-alice-121
John Tierney, a journalist and the other co-author of this book, mentioned that the reason why we focus more on bad news is probably that it is aimed at the general public. “And the things that affect everyone tend to be negative—we’re all afraid of dying; we’re all afraid of being hurt. Focusing on those shared concerns is the easiest way to reach a mass audience.”
However, people on social media tend to share stories that are more pleasant. “That’s because the positive things we’re interested in—our hobbies, our cultural interests, the books we read—are more idiosyncratic,” he added. “Curating your news feed so that you’re not seeing so many negative stories can be good.”
Everything About This
A Running Top
Understanding and noticing our tendency to dwell on the negativities in life should help us to recognize that things are usually not as bad as we think. While it is important to share and discuss the problems we face in today’s world, it’s also vital to balance it out with the good stuff. So if you’re feeling a bit down, we’ve got you covered. Just take a look at some of our most recent wholesome posts here and right here.

Don't forget the people who knowingly voted twice for Trump and only got slaps on the wrist. And wait for it......shocking reveal.....They're WHITE! And as a white person, I'm tired if this s**t happening to black people and other minorities, it's complete and utter bullshit. 'Murica, am I right?
If you have served your time, why is your vote permanently taken away? That seems like a massive violation of human rights.
Because when blacks got the right to vote they did everything to stop them from saying you had to own land or had to take a test to show you can read now if you was a slave it was against the law to learn to read and when all that was seen as bs they started the you can't vote if your a felony so they started locking blacks up for anything ( you ever wonder why blacks had to protest in the 50s and 60s for voting rights when we was promise them after we was freed we ha to fight to get something we already had)

Load More Replies...WOW AMERICA WTF just because someone went to jail does NOT invalidate their HUMAN RIGHTS YOU PSYCHOPATHS! What next, someone who is bust shoplifting loses their right to life and can be hunted like a deer? I mean that is the logic you have right there. In our country, the Electoral Commission GOES INTO the prisons and helps the prisoners vote. Prisoners are caused by desperation and poverty. Capitalism CAUSES crime.
The same system the convicts black parents for lying about their address in order to get their kids into a better school.
Agreed. Parents should send their kids to the school of their choice.
Load More Replies...And a past felony conviction should not be an excuse to deprive someone of their voting rights. Hell, a CURRENT conviction shouldn't.
When I was a kid and teenager I thought USA was the best place in the world. I am 33 now and I am glad I am not there.
My thoughts exactly. For the most part of my life it was my biggest dream to move to the USA, it seemed like the greatest country in the whole world. But the more I learned about it, the happier I got that I never set a foot in that country. No offense to anyone. Really. I know not every American is part of the problem.
Load More Replies...WTF, voting by "accident" when you wouldn't have been allowed to, shouldn't incur more than a fine.
Why shouldn't convicted criminals be able to vote? They're still citizens and deserve a say like everyone else. It's just another racist U.S. policy designed to favour the Republican nutcases.
What state was this in? It had to have been a southern Trump dominated state, right?
Wouldn't there be some back up system at the voting time to look up her name or when she goes in the booth, and uses the electronic machine? Or is it all 100% on her? And how many people are actually told they are not eligible?
I don't know about other places, but I'm from a small town. We have people at our poll locations who physically look at your voter card and document you voted in a ledger, by hand. I'm assuming at some point it all is put into a computer system somewhere, but not at the time we vote.
Load More Replies...There are many women in prison for falsifying their address to get their kids in a less violent elementary/Jr high/high school. Guess what, non of them look like Lori Loughlin.
Chrystal didnt deserve 5 years in prison. Especially if she never knew. Maybe a warning or a fine
No taxation without representation. NO TAXATION WITH REPRESENTATION.
I WAS SO ANGRY WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT SHE WAS ONLY GETTING TWO MONTHS AND THEN SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT HOW HER LIFE WAS RUINED AND SHE WAS SCARED AND Y'ALL I'M TELLING YOU I JUST ABOUT LOST IT. Sorry I yelled it just makes me so angry that she didn't get a longer sentence. The justice system is failing us.
Some states you can vote, but other states you have to wait till you are off probation.
Let’s talk about PG&E, the electric company who decided to stop doing maintenance on their system and trimming the trees (as required) around their lines, how they have been given the benefit is of a corporation bring a person under the law, opening the door to all sorts of perks. Yet not one of those murderers went to prison after pleading guilty to killing hundreds of people, destroying countless homes and businesses and wiping out millions of acres of beautiful natural ecosystems several years in a row. Where do I sign up for a pass like that???
Wait wait wait......... You can't vote if you have a criminal record in the US? WHAT DA FUDGE? W.. JUST WHAT? WITH A JUSTICE SYSTEM BASED ON THE GLIBNESS AND THE PAYCHECK OF YOUR LAWYER??? WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM USA? Dude every time I think you can't get lower you pull out a shovel!
See what Lori does in future votes now she's been convicted . . . worth a follow!
so is the point That Lori Loughlin didn't get a long enough sentence? I agree- 3-4 years for corrupting the educational system. Good, settled.
Please get this correct. Crystal had past charges for prostitution and drugs and accepted the plea deal to cover everything.
2 different things. Although now Laughlin has a record now. Ignorance of the law doesn't excuse you from the consequences. After all she chose to do something illegal to make herself a felon. The court does let you know what rights you aren't eligible for anymore as a felon. She must have not been paying attention.
That you can't vote becasue you have a felony is just so f****d up. That country seriously needs to be turned off and then on again.
So is Lori Loughlin ineligible to vote when she gets out! Did USC people who accepted bribes get any punishment? I heard about this case but didn't follow closely did her dumb children get to go to USC?
Wait wait wait.. Are you going to tell me that people that had a crime in their past are not allowed to vote? What the hell? What are the reasons for that?
Well she did break the law. What comes around goes around. Don’t break the law, conform to society’s rules and you will be fine.

It almost seems like American cops would rather work with rapist, abusers, murderers, corruption, and brutality in their force. Than becoming those who fight against it. People like in the pictures above should be celebrated and become the norm. But hey.. what do I know.
Just Awful
Sadly female upon male abuse is rarely seen and even worse, rarely stopped because not many believe it happens. I have a friend with lasting brain damage from being abused by his wife and daughter. He ended up having part of his brain removed. It does happen, but not many believe, let alone catch it. Most think the woman is the victim.

All this stuff about the. price of insulin makes me so mad because the insulin patent from was originally sold for $1 with the understanding that cheap insulin would become available to all. For a long time the price of insulin was reasonable, retailing for $24 a vial in 1996. Well, I'm more thoroughly depressed now than when I started, so thanks for that.
If it helps you to feel better, in 2021 there have been great medical breakthroughs and treatments to help beat cancers, alzheimers, diabetes. Plus there have been great strides in ocean cleanup recently. It's a hard pill to swallow, but helps to be aware of horrific things in order to stop it. Progression in humanity isn't always beautiful and quite a dirty job.

Honestly I am disgusted by everything in this post!!! WE CAN CHANGE THIS!
Stuff like these are the reason why I'll never bring kids into this miserable world!
I have great grandkids. By the time they get to my age, there will no longer be a United States because we will violently implode from the inequality we see here today. Such a shame and so sad for words. There should be no First Amendment rights when you promote a lie. Liars such as Trump should be in jail for slander and libel. And broadcasters, such as Fox News should not be allowed to blatantly lie and should be shut down immediately. And then I woke up
Honestly, you'll be lucky if your kids make it to your age before everything implodes, never mind younger generations.

I have never read so many this comment is hidden on BP as in this! I dont know but I may assume that some of my comments will be slated as such but one must defend the underdog a all costs!
I had a medication that I needed to function that cost $25 per pill. I was supposed to take 2 pills per day, but I managed okay if I took 4 pills every 3 days. There were a couple of times when we had to decide whether we would pay for my medicine or the mortgage. There was a class action suit, and I got 12% of that money back. Over $8,000. The medicine is modafinil, by the way.
I always lose faith in humanity when I read these because they are so universal. We have many of the same problems and the corruption runs deep within the system. Imagine following all the right steps but still having to pay to get the end product.
I can't keep going. This is a very upsetting article. It doesn't mean you shouldn't keep publishing them, though. I wish you all peace and love. Xxx

I have a story to add: So, we left my abusive father, he was high on drugs all the time, hit me, emotionally and mentally abused my mom and me, lied and endangered my brother and I. Well, once we left, he continued to harass us and show up at our house, drive by to scare me. We called the police, we got restraining orders, everything, yet the police never enforced the orders. Eventually the judge said he wasn't going to give us anymore. My mom got remarried and my father didn't like that. He drove by our new house, sent threatening texts and FB messages, sat outside our house while my brother nad I were there alone. I called the cops many times. Sometimes they never even showed up. My father wanted to kill us. He had said it in messages, on phone calls. Even told me how he would kill my stepdad. Yet the police still did nothing. I pretty much lost my faith in the legal system then. Anyways, thanks for coming to my TEDTalk
What I learned from this thread: The US healthcare system is a dumpster fire and most (not all) police officers abuse their power, got it 👍. All jokes aside, I really hate how most people are so greedy and self absorbed that the people who are actually good and helping society are suffering because of it :(
Now I want to fight humanity is it possible, how do I do it, and should I do it?

Obviously I'm not saying it's the only place this s**t applies to but it's shocking how many of these are well known to happen in USA. How anyone can claim it's the best country in the world with a straight face is beyond belief. The healthcare system is insane, I mean here insulin is free but all prescriptions are in Scotland, but England still charges something like £10 for prescriptions still give insulin for free. I couldn't even imagine being in a situation where I had to refuse treatment due to the cost. The system in USA is completely broken and folk need to open their eyes to the sad fact it's actually one of the worst
