I had a horrific childhood in which my mother abúsed me in EVERY way you can abúse a child - would you say that no one should ever have a child with me, because I have a “psychotic” family? Yes, OP’s husband needs to go full, serious NC with his family, but questioning whether OP should have had a child with him seems pretty crüddy. Just because his family is insane doesn’t mean HE is.

Yes that’s the inconsistency that makes it obvious to me too. I have chronic pain and fatigue because of an illness, and hobbies and other, ahem, fun things, are the first things to get put aside when the fatigue is too much. Even if my bf is staying with me, and therefore helping with food prep and doing all the cleaning, it sometimes still leaves no energy for recreational activities. It’s such bullshít he still goes out with his friends whilst leaving his gf to do all the chores and not finding a job.

I think one of the problems with men like this is that on paper it sounds great, I mean personally, I’d love to live on a farmstead with my cats and someone else earning all the money who I loved and cared for too.
