3) As long as you wear it properly and don't act like an a**e no Japanese person actually cares where you're from. It's only ever other people who get offended at behalf of the cultures they claim someone is appropriating. Never seen a Japanese person offended at a tourist wearing a kimono or yukata (have however seen an elderly Japanese lady stop a tourist to fix her obi which had gotten messy in the back.) Also never seen a Chinese person complain about someone wearing a hairpin, or hanfu. Just others who for some reason feel the need to feel offended on behalf of other people
