Audi Asks Photographer To Photograph Their $160,000 Sports Car, He Uses $40 Miniature Toy Car Instead

When Audi commissioned photographer Felix Hernandez Rodriguez (previously here) to photograph their sports car Audi R8, we knew that something wasn’t right. Turns out, he shot the $160,000 car by using a $40 scale model!

The most amazing part? He didn’t even use Photoshop. Everything was done using miniature models, props, lighting and in-camera effects.

If you’re starting to feel like you cannot trust anything you see anymore, you are not being paranoid. Check out our previous post ‘15+ Pics That Show Photography Is The Biggest Lie Ever‘ to see what we mean. (h/t)

I'm sorry, what?! He didn't use photoshop?! There's clearly traces of photoshop all around there.

If you take a look at his website, you'll se he's specialized in taking pictures of miniatures. I also call bulshit.

Having gone to school for art and taken non-digital photography I can tell you that dodging, burning, perspective, lighting, and camera techniques have been around since the invention of the camera. This is totally legit and can be done purely with modeling and lighting.

Reminds me of a picture I took one day coming back from the beach. It's a magnet I got that day from a friend of mine :) FullSizeRe...c5fd40.jpg FullSizeRender-5804daec5fd40.jpg

Moron who posted this onto Bored Panda doesn't understand what "Photoshop" is. Just because it's not blatant doesn't mean there wasn't photoshop used.

I call b******t on no using photoshop either. Those lens flares don't come from nowhere, ya know. Last time I checked, model cars didn't have HIDs. And that is no $40 model. B******t on the whole thing. If Audi really did hire him to do a photoshoot, then they would have known straight up that he used model cars. It's kind of his thing. This is one of those fake news things the interwebs is full of. Nobody buy this s**t.

The brake caliper placement on the wheel doesn't match up in the model vs the final photos. So either it WAS Photoshopped, or this is complete BS altogether.

Even if the photographer used photoshop, he still had great ideas. Agree?

Def cheaper to organize a photoshoot like this, than the real thing. But then- what is the point of all this? Why are we even bothering to live? Let's just fake it all! </3

I love when people who can't understand that someone can be extremely talented without Photoshop. He's a very great photographer not a Photoshop whiz. Don't cry Photoshop just cause you can't do it.
