Ravi’s word based typographic illustrations take a minimalist approach for the words to explain themselves with as little manipulation as possible, enabling the observer to not just understand the words, but leads them to imagine their own version of the concept that the words represent. With over 180 variants, his work follows the footsteps of Ji Lee, whose work inspired Ravi Koranga to create his series ‘Art-Word’ with over 180 variants.
What Ravi does fall between font and illustrative design. For while creating the words, he designs completely new fonts for each. That translates into 180 unique typefaces. Meanwhile he adds gentle illustrative touches that turn the word into a self representative logo.
Ravi Koranga (23) is a young Indian artist based in New Delhi. His portfolio boosts a wide range of themes and styles via portrait sketches, comic strips, colorful street art and beautiful illustrations of a child’s perception and expression of life.
