“What If She Was Alive?”: Artist Imagines What Life Would Be Like For The Royal Family If Princess Diana Was Still With Us (24 Pics)
Lady Diana died on August 31, 1997, in a car accident in Paris after being chased by paparazzi. A quarter of a century later, the “queen of hearts” remains a pop culture icon amongst the people.
An artist called Autumn Ying had a brilliant idea. She decided to make a series of illustrations showing what it would be like if Princess Diana was still alive and living with her children, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren.

I had the same thought as well on another one of these pictures. She would have changed her hair style, her clothing style...not stayed the same.
Load More Replies...Why not? My husband is still wearing the same haircut from 30 years ago and I go from two different haircuts only.
Load More Replies...That is really odd. It looks like they just had that babyboy together...
This is creepy, not just because she looks younger than her fully grown kids. Just let her rest please.
Di's that same d@mn age in most of 'em. wth? BUT you made me look, so yay, you.
They look like collage, some paint over or around pictures, which make them look weird - everyone one else looks real except Diana (her face is different without having aged). Some look really awkward like where both mothers are there and Diana's arm reaches nothing but thin air. Not my favorite post. Let Diana go - we don't need "what ifs".
This is kind of cringe. She's dead. Let her be dead. I miss my parents but I wouldn't want an artist creating lots of pictures of "let's pretend she is still alive". I do not consider this series "a brilliant idea". I consider if further exploitation of Princess Diana. I would encourage the artist to keep doing art. The world needs more art. But maybe find a more tasteful subject matter.
Obviously not up to date. Where is the happy smiling queen looking down from heaven, where she and Diana are best friends?
So, I want to be a constructive criticism person here, ok? I get that the hostile feedback is coming from people who had high expectations and hopes ....... and also still have high emotions regarding the various royals. But I prefer to view this as the "artist" made the effort as a genuine heartfelt tribute, even though they are still working on perfecting their skills. Yes. The process here looks like various combinations of cut and paste along with applying a painting filter. There are ways that using these tools can legitimately become original and authentic art. By stretching what the tools can do to/with an image. But it looks like this person is just at the beginning of their learning curve with all that. We see all sorts of beginners work posted here on BP. But usually they get words of encouragement in response. Not such hostility. I think some of these were cringy and some were quite OK. And I definitely want to congratulate the artist for doing them and posting them.
These all obviously took a lot of time, work, scrutiny. I can see the ones that they really put more into. I just want to say Thank You for posting these on BP. And keep moving forward in your amazing journey.
Load More Replies...This is sorta/kinda a nice idea — who wouldn’t love to see Diana with her beloved sons again, or holding her grandchildren? -- but these images are beyond creepy. How about just taking plain, old normal photos of Diana (NOT muddied by these weird backgrounds), but instead of having her appear in still-recognizable outfits and situations from 30+ years ago, use photoshop to dress her in some current clothing and make her look the age she’d be now!! This could result in some much more REALISTIC and moving images.
