In the series of self-portraits entitled “Miragem”, Brazilian photographer and visual artist Natália Nunes explores image distortions in the face of her emotions.
“Researching potencies through reflections, duplicates, omissions, hiding places, textures, geometries. Self-distortions and ruptures in wholeness. Allowing the image of oneself to be dismantled, weighing on the improbable. Knowing that beauty is also fun. Most suggestible. Giving the body a free pass to the adventure of not being usual, of not even being useful. I will discontinue.”
Natália Nunes is an artist and psychologist from Belo Horizonte dedicated to photoperformance. Since 2006, she has produced research with self-portraits involving women's bodies, self-image and sexuality.
