This Architect Takes Inspiration From Ordinary Everyday Objects For His Buildings Designs (24 New Pics)
Interview With ArtistEverything in this world is a remix, and that is ok because it can inspire creators to reinvent things in the most unexpected ways. In this case, we have in mind Felipe de Castro, an architect from Rio de Janeiro, who takes inspiration for his building designs from ordinary everyday objects.
An earring? A potato chip? A napkin? Yes, even that can be an inspiration for a building in the eyes of Felipe, and if that is outside of your realm of imagination, just take a look at his drawings; you will not be disappointed. As the artist previously shared, he always had this gift of re-imagining what objects would look like on a much larger scale and how people would be walking under them. The only difference now is that he also draws them.

Bored Panda reached out to Felipe to learn more about him.
First, the artist commented on whether living in Rio de Janeiro inspires the way he creates.
“Yes, Rio de Janeiro is inspiring. I try to find inspiration in the natural beauty and arts of Rio de Janeiro. Since 2023, I have been living in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, which is also a wonderful place for inspiration!”
We wondered how the artist ensured that his creative designs would also work as real buildings. Felipe responded: “This is an art to exercise creativity. It helps me look at the "problem" from another perspective and find more practical solutions. I try my best to create a volume by imagining the structure and thinking about where the beams and structural pillars would be.
This makes these arts feasible.”
As for the takeaway, the artist shared what he hopes people will feel upon seeing his designs.
“Initially, I know that my drawings arouse curiosity in people, but the main message is that everyone should think about the transformation and creativity that the world provides. There is a solution for everything. We just need to look at it with different eyes and from another perspective, and then we can find a solution that is often close by but not being seen.”

We were curious if there is an object that Felipe hasn’t turned into a building design but really wants to. To this, he wrote: “I have drawn many objects. I will even suggest a game. Our readers can make suggestions of objects for me to draw.”
Lastly, Felipe added: “I send a message to my dear readers, enjoy the art and enjoy life!”
Every architect in America will band together to put out a contract on this guy. Their credo is that buildings have to be plain, unadorned, ugly as sin, and above all else, show no creativity or imagination. The rest of the world might applaud his work and maybe build some of these beauties.
Excellent ideas, every single one. OP needs to become a designer for sure.
Not all things are that common, some of them I've never seen and even can't make out what they are.
Once you've had a Nespresso, you will never go back to "regular coffee"- ever. I'll bet my first born male child on it. Pods are a bit more than $1 each- but sweet jesus good god allmighty---- you will never ever drink regular coffee.
