Woman Mocks Guy That Wanted To Take Her On A Date To Applebee’s, Gets Destroyed With 19 Responses

You know those red flags you see when you start dating someone? Like, endless stories about their exes, memories of their childhood traumas, all that stuff you try to keep an eye out for? This girl had none of it. Instead, she possessed a warning sign so brutally obvious, you might think she’s the human version of the Black Widow, walking around with a big red DANGER mark all over her, sucking everyone’s blood. And you wouldn’t be wrong. Recently, she tried to publicly humiliate a guy for inviting her to Applebee’s. You know, because he’s so cheap. Luckily, someone stepped in and explained in the comments why she’s actually the loser here.

More info: Instagram

An entitled woman thought people would appreciate her ridiculing a guy for trying to take her to Applebee’s

But someone stepped in and explained in the comments why she’s actually the loser here

People couldn’t agree with them more and were glad the guy dodged a bullet

when someone has to announce all the things they own/have to show "high standards", to me they are only showing how shallow and narcissistic they are. The will never be happy and most likely treat anyone they are with badly. She is basic

My first date to my now-hubby was fries and a cola at an all-night diner. Judge not by the restaurant, but by how much fun you have with the date. In my case, we were up till 3 AM before we noticed the time. (And that was when the staff asked if we'd still be there for breakfast, which started at 430...) Not a fancy man, but a fantastic one. Just sayin'!

:) My husband and I hit up a taco cart down the road from where we met on our first date...we ate tacos and walked around downtown until early early in the morning...wouldn't have traded it for a fancy restaurant!

I remember a first date at a pub when the guy told me he had just lost his job a few days before. He was nervous to admit it because he thought I'd peg him as a loser. Reader, I married him.

Yes, a nice person would have simply suggested a different restaurant (in that situation).

My s.o. does not like eating at restaurants. We always get takeaway or cook something nice together. Our first date was at his apartment. We just sat there talking. Later he made fries and Schnitzel (we are Germans)with gravy. I really liked it.

and what does S.O. mean? If it means significant other i understand but why not use boyfriend or girlfriend. Why say S.O. unless its a weird a*s relationship which now I'm kind of interested in. So what's the deal.

My bf took me to Burger King on our first date cause I was on period and on a super bad mood, so I did not feel like sitting with people I do not know. Its still my best memory. :) Later I found out he earns quite well. So better do not judge a guy on such stuff. And even though if he can not afford more, in a relationship you should grow together. Build something together as a team. :)

Alright Julia Wingert coming in hot with her PERIOD story. Anyone want to top that. Ok Julia... were here for a good story and to skip time while we work but no one wants to hear that s**t during breakfast or lunch time. Which, BTW, is when we read this s**t. You could have left the period point out and said you were upset. No need to be gross. No one else is doing that either so don't give me no chauvinistic b******t about not liking women and their bodies. You know you all blow it out of proportion.

For those who think this is fake I can assure you there are women like her. I had a friend who dumped a guy because she didn't approve of the pants he wore on their date. Another nice guy was dumped because he committed the faux pas of cutting up his steak into bites before eating any of it. She finally found a man who fit all her requirements, then had to turn herself inside out to pretend to be his ideal partner. Now they're married and both miserable. He cheats on her, and she lives on wine and Xanax.

So, what's wrong with Applebee's? What a b***h. Our first date (we met online) was Starbuck's for coffee and then a walk through Barnes & Noble (he carried my books & that was it for me). It was going really well, so he asked if he could take me to dinner. I said sure, there's a Red Robin right down the street. I certainly didn't expect him to take me to a "fancier" place. Maybe that's why we've been together for almost 12 years.

Sounds like she was more interested in dinner than the guy. Maybe it was a test run to see if she was worth buying a nice dinner or just a self-absorbed, boring date with the IQ of okra.

seems like she measures her worth on her material things and that's not a good indicator of how someone is living and what they have. a lot of people own stock, own a home and have a car nice cars. that doesn't mean it makes my life better than someone who chooses not to have those things. i come home every night to an empty home and spend my nights watching tv. if someone came alone and offered to take me to dairy queen, i would go and have a good time. maybe go to the park afterwards and just get to know the person. you can't always judge someone by what they have.

What does this even mean? If she's that rich, she's the one who should buy dinner then. I mean is that even a thing judging someone by the place he invites you to dinner? I wouldn't dream of doing that. Moreover, I'm used to splitting bills anyway.

I appreciated that my husband was thrifty when I met him. He put himself through college working at McDonald's and so he was very careful not to get himself into unnecessary debt. I was happy to cook at my house or eat fast food when we started dating because all that really mattered was spending time together. We met close to eight years ago and have only spent about two weeks apart (total) in that time. Fancy restaurants don't matter when you've found your true partner in life.

I'm not a fan of Applebees because the one near my home has had bad service the last 3 times we went there. Also my first date with my now husband was Subway and renting a movie from Blockbuster (yep, that long ago). We'll be married 25 years on our next anniversary which goes to prove that you don't have to spend excessive amounts of money to find the one for you.

When my wife and I were married my career path looked like we would have a "tin can life style. Many years and a dozen s**t pots of hard work our financial assets are substantial but more importantly, we're still in love with three adult sons and a couple of grandchildren who constantly remind us money ain't everything. I hope this guy finds someone who will love him for better or worse - even if that's just a choice of restaurants.

I've never asked to see the amount of cash in a guys wallet. I've never cared what kind of car he drove, what he owned or what kind of job he had. As a result, I married a poor military guy with no car, no savings and a big heart who treats me like I'm the center of his world everyday. No amount of money can buy that love. Don't ever think you have to have the best, work for the best or be the richest man to have a good woman in your life. If she loves you, nothing else matters. You treat her right...she'll stay with you through the poorest times in your life. Oh..and for the record....my husband took me to Denny's for our first formal date...mainly because it was the only place open after midnight when he got off duty on the base. And I loved it because he was there...

Exactly! It’s not a romantic or mood setting atmosphere. First dates are to get more intimate, have a good time, and impress each other with personality, humor and fun. Why do that with screaming kids nearby in a drab setting? A drink at a chintzy bar or a walk in the park is cheaper, yet more appropriate.

I don't understand the way some people think that they are too good to be seen in a certain restaurant or business. Did someone tell them that they were way too important or is that just their own thinking? I would have either gone wherever he said and been grateful or nicely suggested somewhere else. My doctor does this. She does long rambling stories on Facebook so she can mention the cost of things. "Oh, silly me, husband's mad at me because I knocked the mirror off our $80,000 car pulling into the garage". Or, "guess who left the sunroof open on our brand new $80,000 car?. "Oh, I bought these $900 boots I can't fit over my calves". She tries to pretend she's self-deprecating but it's only so she can get the price in there. That's ALWAYS the point of her stored and she thinks she's being clever.

If a guy seemed great and I was interested and he suggested McDonalds, I'd say yes! 1) I don't need or want anyone spending lots of money on me. 2) if I wanted more expensive than he suggested, I'd pay; and 3) I'm there for the conversation and company.

Yes men can be douchebags too...straight and gay. It's good that women are being called out for stuff like this. Just as well as the men if this was reversed. Women don't want men to be creeps but yet when you get a man like this, he gets mocked for suggesting this restaurant. And ya wonder why some men are fed up with some women. Or why some of these men start having "relationships" with gay men. It's unfortunate this happened to this guy. If he fine as hell as she claims, hell he can take ME to Applebee's anyday!

Back in university days i used to work at a gas station to make some cash and to have an excuse not to go back to parents' on summer holidays. One night a guy walks in, with mated hair, crumpled clothes, not much different from a homeless man sans the stench. Asks for a box of most expensive cigarettes. Takes out a plastic bag full of money rolls. Next day i found out he was an owner of a rival gas station franchise but had been drinking for days, out of smokes and our station just happened to be closer to his house.

I turned a guy down for a date one time years ago bc he wanted to take me to Applebee's. Not bc I thought it was cheap but just bc it's a loud, family restaurant that isn't really first date material in my opinion. To me it was the red flag after we had talked so much that we weren't vibing the same way and he wasn't getting me. Applebee's is somewhere I always took my kid...not a first date.

Most first dates I choose a coffee house or someplace cheap. I pay my own way. If the first date doesn't work out, no big deal. Save the fancy restaurants for special events.

Also, even though this story is fake, and the reasoning was wrong, I understand not wanting to go to Applebee’s. Applebee’s is for omnivores who are with family or already in a relationship and just grubbing. A dinner at Applebee’s for two would be like $60 including drinks. If this pretend guy had more social awareness, he’d offer her a night of drinks, a walk in the park, a play or movie / drive-in, a challenge like indoor rock climbing or beer in his favorite bar, or a homemade meal. You can spend less than $60 and show someone you care, that you’re trying to make them happy, and that you know what’s appropriate. A normal person can turn down someone for not having the awareness of what a good date consists of. But this story didn’t happen. If the woman were really a gold digger, she’d have known the guy was broke before he mentioned Applebee’s.

Un-Real. She got herself into a hissy fit over a restaurant?! Obviously she couldn't dial it down, which is pathetic, and enjoy being in HIS COMPANY? I truly hope this man meets a woman who is interested in HIM. And who won't flip out if they meet for coffee.

We went to a modest mom and pop near her house. Separate checks. Then we saw a movie. "Major League" which had just hit the theaters. Then to a bar with a jazz trio. It has been thirty years and we watch Netflix now.

She is a very pathetic insecure little girl inside. She has to brag about her "stuff" cause it makes her feel better about herself. To let others down or judging them over petty s**t like this, just tells you what kind of level of a moron people are. That guy is very lucky actually that she acted like that cause it saved time for him not to deal with pathetic losers like that b***h!

My first date with my ex-spouse > we went fishing. It was really nice. We rented a little boat, bought some bait worms and cold cola > rowed out to a nice spot on the lake, had a picnic (kinda-sorta) in the boat and really got to talk. – And I out fished him :D Yeah.. this girl grew up fishing.

So she's a prostitute? Placing value on her time during a date, and acting entitled makes me understand why some men are also feel so entitled. Tell me I need to pay more, and I will ask you for a menu of your services. Gotta know what I am paying for, though I wouldn't call this a date...and think a restaurant like applebees to highclass for such a transaction.

I certainly didn't expect him to take me to a "fancier" place. seems like she measures her worth on her material things and that's not a good indicator of how someone is living and what they have. a lot of people own stock, own a home and have a car nice cars. that doesn't mean it makes my life better than someone who chooses not to have those things. i come home every night to an empty home and spend my nights watching tv. if someone came alone and offered to take me to dairy queen, i would go and have a good time. maybe go to the park afterwards and just get to know the person. you can't always judge someone by what they have.

I detest Applebees, too greasy now. But open to happy hour, or heck, if you had a coupon for someplace great expiring soon, depending on what, why not!

It would be hilarious to find out he was taking her there because he owns every Applebys for miles around. Completely unnecessary for him to be rich, but that would so p**s her off.

I don't have a problem going to Applebee's, but I would question it as a first date spot. It's not because of the cost, but more because it is a family chain.

This woman will probably be alone forever and wonder why.

What an entitled witch. Hate to tell you honey but circumstances change and not always for the best. Someone who has money today might not have it tomorrow and vice versa. What a horrible reason to turn down a date. It's the person you're dating, not the bank account.

If a guy seemed great and I was interested and he suggested McDonalds, I'd say yes! 1) I don't need or want anyone spending lots of money on me. 2) if I wanted more expensive than he suggested, I'd pay; and 3) I'm there for the conversation and company.

I always insist on splitting the bill on a first date so no one feels obligated to go on a second if they're not feeling it. So the restaurant isn't a big deal.

Some of the wealthiest people I’ve ever known, multimillionaires, drove old cars with high mileage and dressed like paupers. And a very famous football coach opened the door for me at Applebee’s once a few years back.

I love Applebee's! I like the food, the price, and the service. I was heartbroken when the one in my area closed. Now I have to take a bus ride to get to one in the suburbs. I still like to go there. In my opinion Applebee's and a movie constitutes a pretty nice date.

Ha! And they say men are a******s? See women can be shitbags too. Look, I'm gay but I see all this man vs woman stuff all the time. I'm a person viewing all this from the outside looking in.

To let others down or judging them over petty s**t like this, just tells you what kind of level of a moron people are.
