Apple’s Anti-repair Policy Goes Public And People Are Furious
As if not being able to charge your phone and plugin your earphones at the same time anymore was not enough, Apple has angered its customers once again. But this time in a different manner. Apple CEO Tim Cook openly stated in a letter to investors that Apple must maintain their iPhone sales at any price. In fact, at an expensive price for those who own an older iPhone and are not willing to buy a new one after the first malfunction appears.

Share on FacebookSo I will admit I have an iPhone and iPad, however reading things like this has made me decide that once my contract is up I won't get apple again. All costs related to Apple have gone up and tbh they should allow third party repairs.
Honestly, I highly doubt you'll regret that choice. Working in IT, Apple is easily the tech that's the most stressful and hardest to work with. Any decision they make regarding your device, you're stuck with and they rarely make working with their tech easier.

The funny thing is I remember having a Sony Ericsson years ago (before touch screens) that only had one port, but you could still use the headphones while charging. As for Apple- a lot of people view their products as some kind of a fashion accessory or a status indicator. Even though there are cheaper and better alternatives. I simply don't understand brand loyalty, but I've always admired the marketing and business savvy of Apple. I don't understand cult-like brand loyalty, but I do understand people who buy the same brand of laptop or smartphone or a similar device after 5 or so years of using their old one which isn't worth repairing because they got used to a certain brand and their system etc. and aren't willing to switch to a completely new one and relearn everything. I never had an Iphone. I too had for years Sony Ericsson mobiles (the logo made me nostalgic) and then I switched to a Samsung and a first time with a touch screen for me (a birthday present - I didn't start using it for months until my old Sony Ericsson broke) and it took some time and effort getting used to. Similar with laptops - I'm only on my second one and I got the same brand that I previously had (hp). Seams like I'm a creature of habit when it comes to things like that 🤷
Load More Replies...The main reason is simple 75% of all of Apples revenue is off of the Iphone sales. So they rely too heavily on that one product and if sales of that start to sink then the company as a whole starts to feel it as well. It really is a bad business plan in the long run.
