I can only stop buying Felix from Nestlé. I don't use their other brands but I do my best to boycott companies who are sh!t (not only in RU right now but also bad for their employees).

Yes, I have heard a lot of horrible things about Nestle. But if anonymous wants to go after them for continuing to do business and Russia, I say go anonymous go!

And Abbott is a diagnostic company, while Abbvie makes drugs. Presumably there are Russian children in hospitals in Russia who still need to be diagnosed with and treated for diseases? I don’t see Abbott and Abbvie’s competitors on that list, though so I dunno.

They do deserve to eat but the country should be the one to do that job, not an international business.

And moreover, Russia does not need these companies to survive. They have plenty of farmlands and cows grazing making milk etc They can manufacture formula. They have the infrastructure. Nestle is just cashing in and they need to be punished

The compromise would be that essentials such as baby formula is still sold there. Nestle also sell a lot of junk food, that absolutely doesn't need to continue.

Actually, they do work. Russia can't keep their cars running and their planes flying, or even keep pumping oil and gas and running industrial computers without Western parts. And for the likes of food industry, sanctions deplete Russia out of dollars. Without foreign currency and the ruble's value sinking like a rock, financing a war gets harder and harder.

The sanctions will, of course, be incredibly difficult for the Russian people, and those that don't support Putin will be caught in a terribly unfair situation because of their leader. However, this is an incredibly delicate, difficult situation...world leaders must walk a very thin line between trying to end the war against Ukraine and not pushing Putin into a situation where he feels the use of nuclear weapons is justified.

Russia has threatened that it will socialize (= steal) all facilities and other assets of the companies that will pull out. So how would you know that they wouldn't or couldn't do that anyway, or at any time, at any reason in the future? They already stole hundreds of airplanes that the Russian companies were renting from Western countries. Pulling out of Russia is good risk management, no sensible business will invest in there at least in the next ten years.

And you do understand that the entire point is to make life difficult for people so they rebel against their leadership, right?
