Because it was very well documented the first time the frog "umbrella" pictures went around. If you google "frog umbrella picture cruel", you'll find a link to a Gizmodo article the covers it. And there are dozens of professional photography sites that have decomposed the photos and show how it was done.

Well that would explains why all the frogs are looking so sad...Cora is right though, without proof that photographers used these kind of practices it's nothing more than somebody yelling empty accusations about "glorified animal cruelty".

Many of these photos have been floating about for several years. The cruelty involved was quite well documented. You'll also find that many of the more extraordinary butterfly photos are actually taken by luring butterflies into traps with scents, then killing them and posing them in some extraordinary pose.
