If you ever wanted to study the ins and outs of character design, this post is just for you. This Korean artist who goes by the name of Rinotuna on Instagram takes seemingly mundane items, food, plants and animals and turns each one into an anime character. And it's a character that you'd love to see in an actual anime. The way in which Rinotuna presents them might teach you a thing or two about how to use even the smallest of details from the reference image to make the character look very rich and interesting. And it's not just the similarities that make them pop, it's also the clever use of color scheme, the theme, and secondary features, among other things, as well.

It isn't Rinotuna's first time on Bored Panda. If you want to see the first part, click the link over here.

Artist Reimagines Animals, Insects, Everyday Objects, And Food As Cartoon Characters (38 New Pics)

Each of the characters that Rinotuna makes is unique and special, but one may note that there are three main things that the artist draws inspiration from: animals (while there are some plants as well), day-to-day objects, and food, especially fruits. But despite that, within the bounds of these categories, the objects the artist chooses as reference seem limitless, and waiting for what they might choose next is always exciting, as you never know what they'll come up with.

Rinotuna's characters are so enticing that it makes one unintentionally project a cartoon world in which the character might fit. For example, imagine an anime where the characters are based on various animals, even though they're entirely human. Or a world where everyday items come to life? I'd certainly watch that, especially if Rinotuna was the one doing the character designs.

As with all of the artists, I highly suggest checking the artist's Instagram out and perhaps consider following them, especially if you like such content, for it greatly helps the artist. Even though Rinotuna has a lot of fans and enjoys 500k followers, trust me when I say this: every new fan means a lot to them! But don't shy away if you don't like Instagram, the artist is active on Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, Patreon, ArtStation and other platforms for which you'll find the links above!

If you liked this post, we have a feeling that you might like these other posts that we're about to suggest. Gilbert Legrand uses everyday objects as inspiration for his characters, but in a much different style than you'd expect. Just as Rinotuna likes to breathe life into objects through the graphic medium, artists like Xi Ding specialize in turning actual personalities into cartoons. And Polly turns actual cartoon characters into humans. Enjoy!

Btw, Proverbs 29:32 (the verse tattooed on his chest) is "Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. O thou invisible spirit of wine, if thou hast no name to be known by, let us call thee devil."

Do you know what it means? Is it an anti drinking proverb or something? I don’t get it to be honest.
