I will never not love this photograph. I have seen it before and it always makes me happy.
I know a dentist who has this up in his office.
Street photography is a genre of photography that captures everyday life in public (indoor our outdoor) places. It is often characterized by its candid and spontaneous nature, as well as its focus on the people and their interactions with their surroundings. Street photographers often try to capture moments of human emotion and activity that would otherwise go unnoticed. This can include capturing people in the midst of their daily routines, conversation, or simply going about their business.

Aw... when I was younger, I played the flute and my cat used to listen very intently when I practiced.

Funny. I wonder if the photographer put a little something on the wall at that spot.
Was at a museum with my service dog. She spotted a bronze horse just a tad bigger than her. She was stunned and sat for a moment. Then decided to investigate this strange green "dog" by, of course, by sniffing it's tail. My niece and about 10 other people were busting butt trying to hold in their laughter while taking photos.
If it looks like a dog and acts like a dog? , I would probably pet it! 🐕
Street photography can also include capturing animals in urban environments, as they often interact with people and their surroundings in unique and interesting ways. This can include capturing stray cats or dogs roaming the streets, birds perched on buildings, or even wild animals that have found their way into the city. These photographs can offer a different perspective on the relationship between humans and animals and how they coexist in the urban environment. Street photographers who focus on capturing animals in urban environments often have to think creatively and be ready to act quickly to capture the perfect shot. It requires a different approach and skillset than traditional street photography and animal photography.

Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe and forget this lost Lenore!" Quoth the Raven "Nevermore."
Oooooh. How I love, love crows and the spirit of this bird captured so eloquently!
I know this is currently 3rd on the list, but this is an amazing photo for an album cover
Nice. The past three days my backyard has been a scene from that old movie The Birds. Defrosting freezers. Threw some old fish / freeze burnt food out in my back woods to compost. Crows found it. So all day long - dozens of them in the trees, cawing, keeping watch as others fly down and fly off with some fish in their mouths. Kind of makes me happy TBH. Felt sort of bad about wasting some food so I'm glad the crows are enjoying it.

Did not have a cat for more than 30 years ago, we took in a stray 2 years ago, she is the sweetest, funniest, smartest lil thing, I could not have imagined the joy she brang to our lives😿
I never had cats in my life. Now I have two and I've never laughed so much
Load More Replies...Animal photography is a challenging and rewarding genre, as it requires patience, dedication and a deep understanding of animal behavior. Photographers need to be able to anticipate the animal movements, and be ready to capture the right moment.

I have read about this photo before. The artist took thousands of photos over a period of years and then got this one PERFECT shot. Amazing.
British Kingfisher, because there are others that are smaller.

No kidding! This looks like a How To Die tutorial. (Beautiful bears, just deadly.)
Load More Replies...The cub is “Masha” and was orphaned when a hunter killed her mother. Machulyak (the man) fed her milk and seal meat for months until she could fend for herself and learn to hunt. When he returned nearly a year later, Masha and another bear approached him with familiarity and “befriended” him. He was a local celebrity in Siberia in the 1970’s due to his frequent, peaceful, mindful, and respectful interactions with polar bears.
What did the rhyme say again: 'if it's black fight back, if it's brown lay down, if it's white: say good night!'
Actually, the real quote is "If you're white, you're all right. If you're brown, stick around. If you're black, get back, get back!" It's an observation on racial relations. FWIW.

At first, I looked at that and thought the bird was holding the phone
It's staring at you dead in the eyes, it knows when sins you are committing.
I thought it was a sculpture with the head of a hawk and human hands holding a phone lol

Horses love doing this. I had one who used to groom me back just like I was another horse if I scratched her withers.
I forgot the word "mane" once when taking about a horse. Called it a Mohawk. My husband just started laughing and asked if I was ok. I was just being super stupid for a moment 🤦♀️😂

Seth Casteel has a whole book of these called, appropriately enough, "Underwater Dogs"
I wonder if there is somewhere near where I live that you can take your dogs swimming in a pool. We have plenty of beaches but it makes me anxious as he is not used to the beach

We used to own horses. It isn't easy to train one to help you look for a lost contact lens.
A very short horse, or very tall person. A very cruel thing to force a horse into that position. Absolutely awful.
How is he forcing the horse into that position? The lead is not tied to anything.Csn someone explain this to me.

Load More Replies...Agreed, it's illegal in the U.K, I didn't realise so many countries still do it until I got a dog... it's madness. It stops them from being able to communicate and all the old 'health benefits' have been debunked time and time again. Why on Earth do people feel the need to mutilate animals for aesthetics :(
Load More Replies...I was going to ask if he had his seatbelt on, then realized they didn't have seatbelts back then.
I had a dog, show up on my front door step. He was bigger than a Great Dane! I kept him, and it was the best decision I ever made. He was super smart, and very protective of me. The den, was next to my room, and it had a door to go outside. It had a window in it, and if he heard something outside, he would climb up in my bed, lay on top of me, facing the door. He refused to move until whatever was outside was gone! He Loved car rides! His butt, would be in the seat, and his front paws would be in the floorboard. He hogged up most of the front of the car, I barely had room to drive! I miss my Buddy...

Yikes! Sometimes horses will accidentally fall over backwards if they rear with someone on their back. It throws off their balance. That's why we encourage then not to do it! It's usually a resistance type behavior. The one in this pic looks like he might have gotten overexcited by all the other horses running.
Curious, how much do you know about horse behavior beyond the general knowledge? Anyone can figure that if a horse rears up, it could potentially fall. That's simply balance and gravity. That is not the only reason they rear, however. How much do you know about exactly what they are doing here?

I've done this. Stand up wind and when conditions are right they can just sort of hover on the wind and take the food out of your hand. I have fond memories of feeding gulls and ducks.
I NEVER feed pigeons or seagulls and yet last week, I had a seagull the size of a 12-pound turkey flip the lid of my insulated lunch box and in the process of stealing ham bit my thumb, drawing blood. My hand was inside the closed bag when it attacked from the rear.
Load More Replies...This! In the boat from Den Helder to Texel (The Netherlands) the seagulls fly alongside the ferryboat and they will take whatever you've got in your hands if it even remotely resemblants food 😁 I lived doing that.

(This also goes for all the captive, performing and otherwise, lions, tigers, bears, etc.) Circus: I f@cking hate you. I hate you!!
Thank God that's not a thing anymore.....at least with that circus
Right. Look at the little kids there. It was a big deal when the circus train came in to town. Later on that day, they'd have a parade down the main street. Looks like it was in the late 40s. Sadly, no one realized the cruelty involved back then.
Load More Replies...Bittersweet memory. As a kid I have been to a "REAL' three ring circus and enjoyed it. It wasn't until much older I learned about the dark side of things like how the animals are often treated, how hard life could be for the human performers and stuff like that.
Yep. I grew up in the 50s and it was a very big deal when the circus came to town. We never thought behind the scenes, and the cruelty.

Ralph, the horse is starting to deflate again. Would you go pump it up before the guests arrive?
Why is the horse licking the wall? You can see where it's been "cleaned" off as far as it can reach.
May be something that is lacking in the diet or a behavior thing....like cribbing

I did a little research, and this rhino was relocated from South Africa to the Okavango Delta in Botswana to protect it from poachers. Blindfolds are a common part of rhino relocation; they are used to help them relax during transportation. This lucky rhino actually has a better chance of survival now in its new environment!
Thank you for looking that up, Norah! I'm so happy to hear this and hope this guy is having a great life.
Load More Replies...They're sedated for rescue or transport. You lose the ability to blink under sedation, so the blindfold is to protect their eyes. This is part of conservation that sadly has to be done bc of poaching. It isn't being hurt or abused, but it's sad that it has to be done to save them.

I remember doing this with my German shepherd growing up. It was the best:)
Is this dog about to bite her or something? It’s blurry, but her face seems upset and she’s kind of pulling up that arm near its face. 🤷🏻♀️
I think they're just playing. But big dogs sometimes don't realize how strong they are, so she's got her arm up.

Yes. That's a professional boxer. Which means it's a very very old photo. Boxing kangaroo shows haven't been around for at least 80 years.
