I created a heartwarming comic about an alligator called ‘Buddy Gator’ to spread positive vibes 1 year ago, never expecting to receive so much love and support, about 500k followers on Instagram so far. Thanks to everyone for being part of Buddy Gator’s journey. I’m looking forward to sharing more Buddy Gator stories with you guys! Lots of love.
Buddy Gator is a good and friendly alligator. Maybe we all need a buddy like him when we're in a hard time.

Buddy Gator theme song! 🎶 This is a wonderful collaboration with the talented songwriter Asia Mei. Thanks a lot for the beautiful Buddy Gator song. Let’s sing along, and spread the positive vibes around!💚
Lyrics:
He's looking out for a friend
He does whatever he can
You always see him lend a helping hand 🎶
He's always full of ideas
On how to make the world cheer
He's always out there thinking 'bout his buddies 🎶
Yes he is a buddy gator
He will try to make it better
Gator 🐊
You won't find a friend that's greater Gator 🐊
He is just so loving, caring huggable and sweet 🎶
Yes he is a buddy gator
Yeah no matter what's the matter Gator 🐊
He'll be there to make it better
Gator 🐊
He's the kind of buddy that everybody needs 🎶

The creations from Studio Ghibli inspired me a lot, from the story to the art style. Instead of 3D animation, I like the 2D style more. Their stories always touch my heart, "Grave of the Fireflies" and "My Neighbor Totoro" are my favorite. I hope my comics can touch people's hearts too.
The stories in my comics are inspired by our daily life. I will try to find trouble with the character, what problems they will be facing today, and how they're going to solve them. I will try to find a solution for them. Just like our daily life, life is about solving problems.
Once I have the story, usually I will spend about 3 to 5 hours finishing a page of a comic—from sketching, line art, to coloring, I enjoy the progress. But the deadline of a 200-page comic in 3 months has totally burned me out. I’ve experienced this in the past 3 months for my new book.
I started Buddy Gator comics on Instagram. One of the reasons is because there are a lot of comic lovers on Instagram, and the most important thing is that the app is user-friendly and stable.
I feel lucky that people love Buddy Gator, most people feel it is heartwarming, and it makes their day better. They like the friendship of the characters, some people even treat Gator as their friend; this is something that I find unexpected. That’s why I always enjoy reading comments from people, and I really appreciate it. Beside this, I also enjoy the coloring part of the process, it is much more relaxing compared to sketching and the line art process, it is just like the dessert of our meal.
I started as a digital artist about 15 years ago. About 10 years ago, I tried some mediums like ink, watercolor, and acrylic, but I just couldn't get the right track. I still feel digital drawing suits me more.
I have loved drawing since I was a child. I read a lot of comics and watched a lot of cartoons/animation, it brought a lot of nice memories to my childhood. That’s the reason that I have a dream to become an artist—I hope my work can bring some good memories to others too, one day.
These are so sweet. This is the kind of material Scholastic Books publishes for younger children and makes stuff animals and toys with the characters.
