This is the cake I made, There were a couple of cracks in the fondant from transporting the cake but I am still proud as punch of the end result. I used pre made store bought cakes, cut them to size. Put jam between the layers and I made my own marshmallow fondant. I am still getting used to working with fondant. I also made blue jelly for the water and bought a fishing toy game to use the rods on the boat and the magnetic fish in the water. A96CB857-7...2-jpeg.jpg

I usually don’t care about downvotes but I don’t understand why my boat cakes were downvoted. Oh well obviously a sad, pathetic person with nothing better to do.

Thank you, I love making things for people. It makes me sooo happy when something I have put my heart and soul into brings someone joy. I make my own Christmas goodies for the adults in the family. Like one year I did a variety of biscuits, another a variety of chocolates and another a variety of truffles etc.

Awwww thank you. It really is just a hobby, I couldn’t do it as a business coz I have a love hate relationship with cake decorating lol. I absolutely love it but it also stresses me out, if that makes sense. It is so easy to stuff up especially with fondant. So far I have only made 3 decent cakes, one for my nanny, the boat for my son and one for my mum. My next cake is for my other Nanna in September for her 80th birthday. The rest of the cakes I have made are just simple with no fondant or fancy looking.

Awww, thank you. In all honesty I was surprised by the downvotes but I won’t lose sleep over it. The most important thing is that my son absolutely loved the cake and I am proud as punch for my efforts.

Thank you, YouTube videos came in VERY handy for when I made my mums birthday cake and even gave me tips on the best tools to use. I originally was thinking of doing a course but I only do the cakes as a hobby and have no interest to create a cake decorating business so a course is something I decided not to do. I think YouTube vids will give me enough tips and tricks to help and continue with my hobby. I honestly don’t care about the downvotes I just didn’t understand them but that’s okay, no skin off my nose lol.

Thank you, he certainly likes to test me lol. But the look on his face was worth it. I am a complete novice when it comes to cake decorating and this was a challenge but now that I recently discovered helpful YouTube video tutorials it should be much easier from now on.
