This Reddit Group Is All About Sharing Photos That Amateurs Took, And They Show Just How Good Casual Photographers Are (108 Pics)
Photography is historically much more different from all of the other art mediums. Since it came much later than other artforms, it was democratic right from the outset: anyone with a camera and some enthusiasm could participate. But, of course, the technical knowhow, the prices of the first cameras and photos, and many other factors made professionals look really good.
However, the times change, and along with the times, so has photography. Nowadays anyone can snap a high-quality photo using only their smartphone. And these little technological and sociological changes have made it so that regular, casual amateur photographers seem on par with the professionals. Don't believe me? This Reddit group is dedicated to exactly that: splendid photos by regular people.

I Filmed Myself For 1.5 Hours So That The “Wax Stalactite” Would Become Long Enough
Don't worry , I didn't have any burns. Candles have a low melting point, so the first layer was a little hot, and then you don’t feel anything.

For A Long Time I Wanted Such A Photo, And One Day Everything Worked Out - I Made My Self-Portrait

I Managed To Capture Fire From The Mouth Of A Dragon Sitting On Top Of Gringotts Bank
I took this photo near dusk, when a storm was approaching. And yes, fire is real! It pops up every 20 minutes and shakes a little at first to let you know it's about to call.
I like it but I wouldn’t want to be a bird that gets caught in the crossfire
6 Years Ago During A Summit Push On Mont Blanc (4,807m), I Snapped The Best Pic I'll Ever Take
Took this one while skiing in Lapland, Finland a few years back. It was taken with old mid-range smartphone, but this is still one of my favorite shots ever.
I Filmed Kissing These Charming Creatures - Guanacos. They Are Relatives Of Alpacas, Llamas And Vicuñas

The Storm Knocked Down Several Trees And Blocked The Tunnel
Time Warp—it’s the same dude on both stairways. At least in my mind it is…
The Super Moon Rising Every 105 Seconds
Hmm super moon diameter is ~33 arcminutes = 0.55 deg... so each moon image looks like about 40 arcminutes = 0.66 deg... so time interval should be (0.66/360)*24*60*60 = 158 sec
An Incredibly Satisfying Hotel Balcony
The Super Blue Blood Moon
A Departing Aircraft
My Wife And Curious Son In The Rain

My Wife At The Car Wash
Proof that photography is real art :D many people like to say "anyone can buy a camera and press a button" when it comes to photography but it takes real skill, luck, talent, timing, and a good eye to take photos like this. Even if I was given the best camera in the world I doubt I'd be able to take such beautiful and perfect photos.
In the background the TV is on about Putins war, and all the destruction it brings. Sometimes I despair of humans, but today looking at all your pictures made me remember, the humans are good too and able to see beauty in the world. Who would wish to destroy any of those places, except of course the plasticbag?
