A Long, Long Time Ago, My Sister Was Told She Couldn’t Have Anymore Children
Well, maybe not THAT long ago and it was this galaxy, but it was a pretty long stretch. After battling cancer and then being part of the 7% of people who are affected with a rare disease, she had overcome the many battles that were thrown at her and had accepted that she was meant only to have 2 kids and that’s it.
Then 11 years later, the cancer survivor became pregnant with her miracle baby. The doctors were unsure she would be able to keep the unplanned pregnancy due to the fact she suffers from an Autoimmune disease, called Copper deficiency myeloneuropathy, and was receiving infusions bi-weekly Monday-Friday, there was little hope. But the force was strong with this one.
Overcoming the dark side and beating all the odds, this little baby Jedi came into this world with ten fingers, ten toes and a lightsaber at hand. They told her while pregnant, he may not be the healthiest due to my sisters’ immune system being weakened, and that is just the case. He was born with a few bumps in the road, jaundice, his lung not expanding as much as it should and a weakened immune system as well. This young padawan is fighting all the battle droids and stormtroopers coming his way and winning every battle.
All the baby photos taken by me, Trish McCoy.

Share on FacebookWow... Some of you are just plain a******s. This family is amazing, accepting of everyone, and would adopt if they would've had funds to do so. She was surprised by the pregnancy as she had been told she could NOT GET PREGNANT. F****n read people. She has endured cancer... And her copper deficiency disease is debilitating to say the least. Little E is a miracle baby. Here for a wonderful purpose, I'm sure. Congratulations on this little Jedi... The force is definitely strong with this one.
Love all the Star Wars posts appearing lately! The Force Awakens will be in cinemas soon! Excitement grows everyday! Best wishes for the young padawan!
I hate making errors...The Force is strong with this one!!

I know God will bless you and your family. Though you may have hard times but always believe that God knows all the reasons, and he know what is best. Just embrace everything and be thankful...
bring a sick child into the already overly populated world and call it a "miracle" stupidity more like.
Is that any of your business? And why do you care! Some people have a limit to how many they want to have or plan on having!

There are also other considerations. Since the sister had cancer she might not be allowed to adopt. In some states or with some agencies people who are too old, have had cancer, transplants and/or are obese are on the high risk category list and are not allowed to adopt. I think the thinking behind this is to try and improve the chances of the child not being orphaned again.

I have wanted to adopt from very young unfortunately my financial situation is not conducive to supporting a child. Some people feel the need for a biological child. I volunteer with kids and find them all lovable even when they drive me batty I love them all.
