Airplane! is widely considered one of the funniest comedy movies of all time. It's is a fast-paced comic parody of the very popular disaster movies of the 1970s (Airport, The Poseidon Adventure) and the clever jokes are completely and utterly over the top. However, nearly 40 years have passed since this comedy gold film was released, so you might've forgotten the scenes and the good humor that had you rolling on the ground. And even though it's impossible to cover all of those dark humor skits, Bored Panda has compiled a list of some of the best jokes in the hilariously funny movie to refresh your memory. And if you'll want to rewatch the movie after going through them, feel free to fire it up on Amazon Prime Video.

There's loads of these secret entries in the credits. Same with the Naked Gun movies, too. I can't remember which one it is, but one of them even provides a recipe for brownies.
Load More Replies...There's an oatmeal cookie recipe in the midst of the credits too, I recall :)
I forgot that line... some seriously odd but funny moments.
Load More Replies...Leslie Nielson, starting out as a serious actor, was the perfect straight man for this movie
For me this is personally funny, my mothers name is Shirley. My husband would always say “don’t call me Shirley”, I couldn’t handle that.😂😂
That is DEFINITELY not spanish XD I've taken it for 4 years lmao thats really funny though. Almost as funny to me as John Cena, John Desayuna
These two only shared this one scene, but it, and their acting, was f*****g perfect. His face is priceless.
Indeed…any idea whether they were n anything else, either together or not?
Load More Replies...Ah the classic coffee scene, sadly you can't do jokes like this anymore...
Are these 2 still alive.....is this their only claim to fame....lol.
Cream is the thicker part of the milk that settles to the top when it's exatrcted from the cow. It tastes different then just skim milk.
Load More Replies...I very much miss this humor!!! Everything now how to be so extra.....
Load More Replies...For me it wasn’t the picture thing, it was all of the reporters looked like they were from the 1940’s detective movies.
Poor guy was driven nearly insane by Ted's back-story which is why he was going to set fire to himself... then thinks he is safe because Ted is going to the 'little room in the front of the plane where the pilots sit'. So is he safe???
Nope, he blows himself up on accident, anyways.
Load More Replies...Seriously, though, does this guy even have eyes. Watching this is sort of creepy.
You can use this when your stress level is too high because of your c-worker
Holy sh**, i've seen this movie maybe fifty times, but this is the first time i've realised the shelf! Prove that this is the movie with the most jokes per minute!
It's the same with Police Squad. Which is why it got cancelled. People didn't like having to pay attention.
Load More Replies...I have seen it ... I still don't understand what's happening. An affair with a horse?
Load More Replies...I had forgotten Dean Wormer was in this one too!
Load More Replies...My maiden name is Striker and this movie has haunted me! Still hilarious!
I'd like a copy of Box Lunch. You know what, I'll take one of everything from that section.
It's a pretty quick sight gag, so you may have to watch the movie more than once to notice it. Not that you need an excuse to watch Airplane more than once.
Load More Replies...Boo...we need the rest of the lines here. “Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop sniffin’ glue”
Rumack: Well, can't you take a guess? Captain Oveur: Well, not for another two hours. Rumack: You can't take a guess for another two hours?
Not a chance. And, you notice the "Striker/strike her"" joke is missing from this list. You know the one. I guess Bored Panda didn't want to trigger anyone.
Load More Replies...That movie is such a classic!!! And Leslie Nielsen, oh man, the world is a dimmer place for having lost him... I always watch his movies and no matter how often I see them, they always make me laugh!
"Bad news... the fog's getting thicker..." "And Leon's getting laaaaaaaarger!"
"What do you make of this?' "Lets see-I can make a hat, I can make a brooch...."
I’ve used that some many times at work, and I get a laugh every time. He was hilarious throughout the movie!!!
Load More Replies...My favorite line from any movie at ALL is "They bought their tickets. They knew what they were getting into. I say LET 'em crash!"
And best of all, the sound of the s**t hitting the fan... perfect.
Load More Replies...This and the sequel are, in my opinion, the funniest movies ever made. I don't care that the second one was just a lot of the same recycled jokes. For whatever reason it just worked. Over 30 years later both still make me laugh.
Wasn't the whole point of this spoof genre that the movies they were spoofing were themselves recycled until they squeaked?
Load More Replies...Now I really want to see that movie in my language (we do dubs for movies here as a standard procedure) compaired to the original - you just CAN‘T translate those awesome jokes! :D
