No matter the grey hair, for our parents, we will always be babies. Hence, all the unasked advice on changing jobs, traveling abroad, getting a loan, you know it. But this time, we won't be talking about humans as we shift onto the animal kingdom to see what animal babies are like.
The obvious thing is how impawsibly cute they are. But other than that, for those who skipped biology (myself included), animal babies are somewhat of an unknown terrain. Do baby hedgehogs even have spikes? Do newborn gorillas resemble human beings? Baby sloths, are they just as cute and slow as adult sloths?
So Bored Panda has prepared for you quite a collection of pictures that should answer all these questions. Be prepared to make your heart melt, and don’t forget to upvote your favorite baby animals! Psst! More pictures of rare animal babies you probably have never seen can be found right here.

The primary way that animals grow and develop is by building more cells. When an animal eats food, its body breaks the food down and uses it to fuel its energy requirements and build new cells through the process of mitosis. These new, or daughter, cells are often similar in size to the old, or parent, cells.
In order to produce more cells, animal cells divide in two. The process is a complex one since the parent cell has to produce new organelles for each resulting daughter cell. It then has to copy the genetic code as accurately as possible and transfer both copies of the genetic code into the nuclei of the daughter cells. In science, it’s called mitosis.

How can people see this and kill their mothers and keep the kids as pets?
However, mitosis requires a lot of energy that comes from food, along with the raw materials for constructing more cells. The food that animals eat is then transformed into usable energy for cells or can be used to build new cells, which form tissues like skin and muscle. The process of growth involves eating food, breaking down food through digestion, absorbing nutrients from food, and building tissue.

The rate of growth of an organism has a direct impact on its ability to adapt to the environment. For instance, an increase in the rate of growth of fleshy parts of the fish fin would provide an opportunity for the fish to adapt more easily to terrestrial locomotory life than could a fish without this modified fin. Scientists believe that hence, it may play a role in evolution.

I've Never Seen A Baby Squirrel. I Am Not Disappointed
When I die, imma come back as a squirrel. They always seem to be having so much fun.
except when trying to cross the road....they should leave that decision to chickens.....
Load More Replies...I raised one from a lot smaller than this - her name was Puddin had her for 11 years. RIP Pud!
Had one fall down my chimney a few years back. Took him to a rehab center. They’re feisty! And so adorable! The urge to keep was strong.
Actually now that you mention it, I have seen thousands of squirrels in my lifetime, but never a baby one.
I've been so lucky to see baby squirrels. They start their life high up in a tree and as soon as they start to crawl they go out from the nest. First times out they look like fuzzy crawling mass. Day by day they grow and roam further from the nest. They learn to jump from branch to branch. Then finally they come down the tree. It's funny how they come half way down, hesitate, go back up etc. It's the most scary thing in the world for them. But when they come, be prepared for bunch of baby squirrels swooping around. They might just run over your toes and are so much fun to watch!
Load More Replies...I've hand-raised many a baby squirrel in my time. Wonderful, fun, inquisitive little creatures.
I’ve seen a baby squirrel 🐿 but it fell out of the tree and died before I saw it so I’ve only seen a dead 💀 one ☝🏽
I heard that Nature makes babies that need to be raised by their parent(s) extra cute to ensure they are well taken care of. Babies who are born looking the same as adults (i.e. turtles) rarely need rearing.
Really you don't get to see them as babies but they are very cute ;=]]
Why do we hardly ever see baby squirrels? Yet so many many squirrels everywhere.
I've raised more than a few of these in my life. Very enjoyable - but glad to release them back in the wild.
When I was a child I helped nurse a baby squirrel with small mammal milk fed from a dropper, until he was ready to be released. We set Charlie out in the Biblical Garden of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
Went camping up on Mount Greylock in Massachusetts. For three days we woke up to a squirrel standing next to our tent screaming at us. He would run when we opened the tent. Mentioned it to the park ranger. "Oh, that's Fred. He lives at that campsite and thinks he's an alarm clock."
I used to raise baby squirrels when they fell out of their nests. So cute when they were about 5 weeks old. Not quite able to be on their own yet but still crazy to watch them play with each other.
Found a three week old baby in my yard a week ago. She was so cold. Couldn't get her back into the nest, so kept her warm 'til I could get her to rehab. Would have loved to have been able to keep her! Now leaving food out for mom, and talking to her.

Omg, So much cuteness. Love this post. Thank you for sharing.
You don't . You pour it out through your nostrils and make it into a candle . It smells like blood , pain , death , and butterflies
Load More Replies...I think is the first time I've ever seen one of these articles where at least one of the pictures *wasn't* a doll/felt model being passed off as a real animal.
Hey Bored Panda, maybe don't shorten this list like all the others? Each picture is precious and deserves to be seen.
I really had to pull myself together to not upvote every single image
But the baby "warthog" still isn't a warthog, but probably a baby boar. Warthog are dark all over with little tails stuck straight up in the air.
Do not shorten the list, every animal, here is worth seeing, awwwww
I prefer the full article. Why would ANYONE want to limit how many cute, adorable animal babies one could see?!?
yes thank you i smiled at each one...............me: *smiles at posts my mom:"what are you doing?" me:* shows pic of baby hippo my mom:*passes out
Notice that a lot of these bbys are blepping. I love and live for a good blep.
Okay, I’m literally crying now form the cuteness. Like there are actual tears of joy at how adorable these are.
Thank you for sharing. I needed a dose of happiness today, and you must certainly gave it to me!
Such beautiful babies, my heart just melted, I love this post, so awesome , we need more post like this
They're beautiful but one comment... See all this cuteness fill my heart with love and I bet yours too, so my question is why do you keep eating and killing their mother's and father? It is very difficult to see how Our moral society is so wrong. Don't wanted to fight just thinking out loud.
