Even if you hate spiders, you will love this one. Joshua Slice has put together a short animation and asked his nephew Lucas to do the voice acting. The quirky result turned out to be great, and we’re hoping Pixar turns it into a feature film.
“This is an animation test of a character I’ve been working on,” Slice writes. “I’m responsible for the design, modeling, rigging, animation, lighting, and rendering.” Scroll down to check out the adorable video, and if it still won’t cure your Arachnophobia, have a look at these tiny paws some of these creatures have.

I am terrified of spiders, like crazy terrified. But Lucas, with his eyes, his voice, he has stolen my heart, a Little. He is too cute. Finally I saw a spider that did not make the hairs at the back of my neck stand. He's really cute, I want him to talk for longer, uncle make him do more.

I'm not crazy about spiders running over me either, but something about Jumping spiders, which is what Lucas is modelled after, is different. I find them fascinating and ultra-cute lil 8 legged critters, and I have no problem handling a jumping spider. They're just so different from regular spiders, that there's no creepy with jumpers...even when they jump on my face...heh.

Do you want to know that cured my arachnophobia? Scutigera Coleoptera (commonly known as "house centipede"). The first time I saw one I realized there are far worse critters out there. Somehow, they made spiders look cute in comparison. Besides, the fact scutigera preys on them, made me pity them and any other insect for that matter. Just take my advice, if you don't know what I'm talking about just DON'T GOOGLE THEM.

I absolutely am now in love with Lucas. Great job to the artist who created this. There is a spider that looks very similar to Lucas that I also love in nature. Spiders don't scare me, people scare me. I really hope that the artist and the guy named Ishmael above get together and pitch it to Pixar.

This looks like one of the real jumping spider species.They are very tiny and very cute. Never, never understood Arachnophobia. Spiders are critical to a healthy environment. Real spiders are fascinating, and, yes, cute.

I’m cool with spiders but I think people are afraid of them because they can bite / have venom so it’s like programmed into human response - in combination with the fact that they are so different from us and have the multiple legs and a stereotype of being creepy, and it’s even a social “thing” to be afraid of them for women at least. All of that is a soup of spider hate. People don’t see past the silliness of those things. Even me who likes spiders and doesn’t kill them, I still freak out when they crawl on me. I’d prefer them to just stay in the corners at a distance like they normally do.

Except my arachnophobia is entirely based on physical proximity to the spider. I love spiders, they're awesome, helpful and just look cool in general. I just can't stand being physically near them, and especially not having them actually crawl on me. I blame this on the time in middle school when I woke up with six spider bites on my stomach.

When I was growing up I spent the weekend at a relative's house deep in the swampy woods of Florida. The huntsman spiders were abundant. When I went to bed, I could see numerous critters scurrying through the light from the living room casting on the wall. I shrieked and my mom came in to sleep with me, covers over our heads. We could hear their little feet on the walls. I don't think I slept that night. Hence my severe arachnophobia.

Can never say i've been that scared of spiders. Especially small fuzzy ones. It's the ones with huge abdomens, no hair, and spindly legs that creep me out. The number of legs never bothered me.

Still can't understand why people are so arachnophobic. When I lived in Arizona had a pet tarantula. Let him run all over the house...result...no bug problem. If anybody saw him and got nervous, I'd just pick him up and put him in the aquarium (sans water) until my guests left. Then let him out to get back to work.

Yesterday I saw a spider with a small body and looooong thin legs in my bathroom, I let her stay there because she hasn´t come close to me and she might eat some vinegar flies etc. that I still have in here even though it´s autumn, and if I put her outside with my upside-down plastic mug plus thinner cardboard piece-method she wouldn´t find anything to eat THERE anymore and starve + die, but if I met Lucas the spider "in person" I´d probably pet him, so cute!!! 💖💖💖 But by the way, only the female spiders go hunting with or without a net, the male spiders´re only there for mating, afterwards they either starve or the female spider eats them.... 😲😲😲

With this I now believe animators are magicians- because here an atrocity has become adorable. I would love to have Lucas become a "private eye(s)" that gets the job done despite his size, everyone's aversion to him, and his maniacally cute ADHD. Do it.

f**k CGI, cgi isnt even art, dreamworks is a hackjob, and disney hasnt made anything good in DECADES. disney is literally the sluttiest channel on tv. id feel safer letting my kids watch HBO, at least they arent force fed agendas and advertising

I have one of these spiders in my house who's been hanging out for months. He be-bops from one place to another when I get too close to him. I'm not fond of spiders but this spidey is adorable and very small.

I have a rule in my bedroom; I tell the spiders they can have the ceiling corners but if they are stupid enough to come within my reach (I'm 5'2") they're toast.
