Do you ever get that feeling of getting new and fresh opportunities in life, only to find out that they are just more of the same?

Well, turns out, this happens more often than you might think. And it’s especially visible in the film industry. But we’re not talking about films, though they are guilty of this, but about particular actors and the roles they are cast in.

People online have been listing famous names in the movie industry and the same-y roles they keep getting cast in, where effectively only names change, but you’re always either that macho dude, or an ex-cop, or the comic relief or whatever.

Check out the most spot-on observations from Redditors across multiple AskReddit posts (here, here, and here) on the topic in the curated list below, and why not upvote and share some big names who keep getting picked for the same old roles movie after movie.

I would like to see him in negative role, with Ryan Reynold in positive in a proper action movie 😂 [Edit: Guys I have seen Red Notice, I want a 'serious' Ryan Reynold fight]

He does his silly stuff and then he does: Punch Drunk Love, Reign Over Me, Uncut Gems, and Spanglish. - As a viewer you are really doing yourself a disservice by only watching the money makers that go into big theaters. A lot of actors have their bread and butter work that pays the bills, and then they have side projects to do indie projects that will let them have range.

That dude is really smart, he made a calculated cost to earn ratio of the m noovies he produced, did it several times i succession. Yeah, most of them were directly bad, yet i cannot but ponder how did he managed to get something so unpredictable right that many times.

😂 as a teenager I worked at a store that sold VHS/ DVD/ laser disks and movie merch (I know I'm showing my age there) in NH where Adam Sandler went to school. Quite a few people would come in and profess that they went to high school with him and he was voted class clown and least likely to succeed. I don't know how true it is but I guess he's been at it since high school.... The other side of that is everyone that would jab at him with the year book thing would also say he was truly a nice guy and really quite smart.
