Needless to say, acting ain't easy. It's not just about remembering lines, articulating, and gesturing properly. It's about being a certain kind of jack of all trades—assuming a role to its fullest, with its character, emotion, and lifestyle, whatever it may be.

And, in an actor's life, there will be numerous roles to fill, some even being as drastically different as serial killers or murderers and saviors of the world.

Bored Panda has created a list of some of the best actors out there who have managed to land roles of good guys as well as bad guys.

Check out the list below, and hey, while you're down there, vote and comment on the actors and characters you've enjoyed the most!

Ian McKellen

Ian McKellen

McKellen has been in the acting scene for over 60 years now and has been credited in over 120 films and series. One of his most iconic roles is, of course, Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit series, where he plays a renowned wizard who helps restore peace to the land. In contrast, McKellen also plays Magneto, one of the key villains in the X-Men universe (though Magneto does develop other roles, so much that he also becomes a superhero and an ally to the X-Men, but I digress).

If he'd been able to reprise the role in Suicide Skwad, both Joker and Harley would have been the Ozzy Possé!
