It seems that it is not the end of heated discussions on abortion laws and demonstrations showing what people stand for as thousands of people gathered to support abortion rights all across the United States on October 2nd. After the new Texas law that severely restricts access to abortion was passed, pro-choice supporters are afraid that such restrictions will be imposed in other states too.
After these demonstrations took place in all 50 states, the internet was filled with pictures of people with colorful and meaningful signs, posters, and t-shirts that go against anti-abortion laws. Bored Panda has already presented some of the reactions of people who were very vocal about abortion restrictions as well as managed to get a glimpse at what the world would look like if a fetus was considered a baby. This time, let’s see how people expressed their thoughts during recent demonstrations.

The protests were organized by Women’s March. Their main mission is to “create transformative social change”, involve more women, make sure to keep the diversity, and educate people on various and serious issues such as the anti-abortion law.
In the nearest future, the Supreme Court will be hearing a case that could reverse Roe v Wade protecting woman’s right to choose to have an abortion without restrictions posed by the government. The Court will now focus on Mississippi's 15-week ban on abortion.
According to Texas law, abortion is prohibited six weeks into pregnancy. Having in mind how early that is, at this time women don’t even know themselves that they are pregnant. Besides this, it encourages people to file a lawsuit against those they believe had or performed an abortion, an exchange getting $10,000.

If implemented, what do these changes bring to citizens? According to a piece written by newspaper columnist Jacob Sullum, there shouldn’t be sudden changes. Even if these restrictions become the new reality, women still will be able to make their own decisions and have an abortion in other states where these restrictions aren’t so cruel.

I love when they call themselves "pro life" but are against abortion if the kid or the mother is not healthy, they are against public health, pro guns... Like many said before. They are not pro life they just want to punish women for having sex. If I get pregnant there is a very high chance that i will die or experience terrible complications and barely no chance of a healthy baby being born. How is not allowing women like me to abort "pro life"? I am glad to live in belgium where we have rights.

From a medical perspective, this is no different than any other medical choice. Want a nose job? THat's legal. Want a vasectomy? Nobody cares. Want not to be a mother? Okay. And, since hysterectomies are *not* allowed under insurance as elective procedures anymore (in the US, note, which is where I am, and I'd know, I begged for one).... What's that leave women? Birth control (never 100%) or abstinence (so why should not wanting motherhood mean giving up sexual activity?). Pro-life.... The life that's walking around and asking me, "Can you help me? I'm in trouble..."

I feel like if it were mandatory for the father to stick around and properly raise a child (and pay child support etc.) no matter whether they wanted it or not and not be able to just walk away and leave mom and child behind - abortion would be legal in a week. Because as soon as it's inconvenient for a man something gets changed. Force the woman to have a baby she doesn't want for whatever reason - okay for men. But forcing the man in the same situation (minus the being pregnant and giving birth part which can be traumatic as well, especially if unwanted) - Oh No YoU cAn'T mAkE mE hAvE a ChIlD I dIdN't wAnT! (Hypothetically of course, I know there are so many cases where having the biological father around would be worse if not outright dangerous for the mother and child e.g. inc*st or r*pe)

It's an awkward subject for me, probably because I was raised as a Catholic (I'm not now btw) and the whole pro life thing was instilled in me. I remember going for my first scan when my daughter was barely 6 weeks and she looked like a jellybaby, arms fused and could barely wiggle. I just couldn't comprehend termination. I totally respect the choice to terminate too but personally I couldn't go through with it.

Assuming you wanted to be pregnant and yours and your daughter's health weren't at risk during your pregnancy, then of course you wouldn't consider abortion. But for anyone facing a difficult decision, they should have the right to determine their lives and have agency over their bodies. Pro-choice isn't anti-birth, despite what the pro-birthers chant. Religion has no place in government and this entire debate is a religious one. But why should the beliefs of one religious group restrict and control the lives of everyone else, many of whom do not subscribe to that or any religion?

You don't have to follow Christian Tenents to be called a Christian. After all, I don't see much "Love thy neighbour as thou Lovest thyself" in those crowds...unless they REALLY hate themselves! lol -- But also rember the Golden Rule? (Treat others as you would have others treat yourself.) I've spoken with some Devout Christians, and even though it is in the Bible, the HOLY BOOK of their religion...because it is in the Old Testament, it is for Jews only! (i.e.: Part of the "Old Covenant" between God and His Chosen People, and not part of the "New Covenant" between God and the Followers of Christ!) Some of these idiots are the same ones that claim *every word* in the Bible was enscribed BY GOD, and that there are no contradictions in it! (Based ONLY on the Scriptures contained in the current Bible, there are over 140 self contradicting statements, spaced as little as a page apart!) >SIGH<

Just wondering... (Note 1. I'm totally pro abortion by the way) (Note 2. European person here) Why can't USA improve their contraception or parental/family programming or whatever it's called ? Why don't they teach children (yes CHILDREN) how to avoid getting pregnant in the first place? Why are there sooooo many (underage) girls getting pregnant? Why is it so difficult to have access to contraception? I'm 42. Never pregnant (by choice) but I knew how to protect myself way before I was sexually active. I totally agree that you should be able to terminate a pregnancy if you don't want a child. You will be miserable, the child will be miserable, the grandparents will be miserable and all will suffer when it could be avoided. Every woman should have the right to control her own life and her own body. I just don't understand why you should even be in that situation. An abortion is a horrible thing, it's painful, bloody and mentally heavy, even if you know what you're doing.

Based on all of your comments, I'm going to assume you've never had sex without the intention of either becoming pregnant or getting someone pregnant? If not, you are going against all of your asinine comments. Having sex is a choice but contraception is not 100% effective, therefore a woman should not be subjected to carrying a pregnancy to term just because she is human and acted as such.
