I'm a French artist, and my name is Dimitri "Jahz Design." I graduated as a graphic designer. I have always been interested in history and architectural remains. It was in 2013 when I developed my interest in the photography of heritage in disuse. My first exploration was an ancient cemetery of military ships.
I travel the globe looking for places in decline. Today, I want to share with you the most beautiful abandoned places around the world.
Also, check out my posts about the most beautiful abandoned castles, Georgian Soviet-era spas, and European abandoned theaters.

Greenhouse, France
I am self-taught, I learned photography alone while trying as much as possible to have my own photographic style. The complete editing of an image is between 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on the retouching. I try to transcribe as much as possible what my eyes saw on the spot.

The creation of an image can be very long, I sometimes come back to my work several days later. People like to discover new places, sometimes places that are very close to home and that they did not know. The most interesting part is researching places and not knowing if there is still something interesting there.

Chapel, France
Such a shame to see something so beautiful fall into disrepair like this... great picture though
I wanted to photograph abandoned places to keep track of all these places before they disappear. I started photography in Nantes, France with an old abandoned orphanage. With that being said, before becoming a photographer I started with drawing, which taught me how to compose a photo.
Villa, Portugal
Military Ship, France
What motivates me the most is the discovery of bigger and bigger places that have never been discovered by photographers. Curiosity is the main thing in my photographic field.

One place I really wish I had a chance to visit before they bulldozed it was Fallen Monument Park. When the USSR collapsed they tore down statues left and right. They piled them in a sort of statue scrap yard. It's depicted in the movie Goldeneye. Just miles of broken and shattered statues of Lenin, Stalin, Etc. I've hung out in a few old graveyards, but I've never seen a graveyard for an entire country.
