I Discovered An Abandoned $2.5 Million Mansion That Was Burned In A Fire With Everything Left Behind (22 Pics)
Hidden deep in the woods of upstate New York lies a spectacular abandoned mansion. The mansion was abandoned after an electrical fire broke out in the kitchen in 2018. The doors have been locked up…until now. Take a peek inside the abandoned millionaire’s mansion.

Share on FacebookAs much as I like viewing OLD, historic, abandoned structures, I despise it when the photographer chooses to stage the scene by adding dust-free elements! If you are interested in showing places of this ilk, they should be presented in their CURRENT state. Even better, juxtaposed with their FORMER state if one could be that lucky. Viewers want to see how the previous tenants lived.... NOT how the photographer thinks they should have.
I know what you mean, I know a guy who does breaks and enters abandoned buildings to take photos/recordings, and the state of 99% of places are dark, dusty, rotten, definitely no clean doilies or hats around! It's perfectly ok if it's staged, just make it clear
Load More Replies...This was a beautiful home but this series of pictures doesn't tell you any more. Anyone planning on repairing it? Why has it been left still furnished?.It doesn't seem the fire was everywhere.
Like you, I ALWAYS wish the back story was readily available in these types of photos and videos. Occasionally, with a bit of Google sleuthing one can find some details via the address, photo search etc. but more often then not, we are left to wonder.
Load More Replies...Wtf? This is totally redeemable. And anyone who can afford a $2.5 m house has insurance to cover the lost. I'm betting it was abandoned for some other reason (dirty money? Flee from authority? Owner died and had no kin or named executor?). The fire could have happened later. Either way, looks like a scavenger's paradise.
If you have that much money, you can also afford to just walk away from the place, move into another home and just consider the original home a "property investment" that you will sell when property values go up in that neighborhood.
