A Murder Hornet Sculpture Inspires A Children’s Book Against Racism
My fascination with bugs goes back into childhood and my fascination with the art of Rhonda Warsing with her whimsical fantasy take on nature was an ideal combination.
I asked her for a commission on a fiber piece sculpture on a murder hornet and what I got made was a delightful little fellow. She inspired me to create and write a children’s book based on this little fellow about a hornet named “Shivers” who was raised to hate and attack bees until he meets one and becomes best friends. It is a sweet story of love and overcoming hate, using her delightful art.
