A “Spirit Animal” is an animal essence who present life’s lessons. The Spirit Animal is the one who comes to you in order to show you, through its own unique nature and skills, how to deal with the manifestations of your sacred journey. Spirit Animals do not necessarily guide you, but they come to teach you that which you need to learn, in order to know how to meet the challenges of your journey.

You do not choose your Spirit Animal, it chooses you.

As the name implies, the animal messenger delivers the directive from the ethereal realm that you need to pay attention to in your current situation. They often appear in dreams and meditations or while you are on your spiritual walk. Their visits are usually sudden and they often depart as quickly as they arrive, but they can also be quite persistent and repeatedly present themselves in a way that cannot be ignored. Look and listen carefully to what they have come to show you for you need to accept and understand the message they are attempting to impart.

Artist Statement I love experimentation with new materials. From found objects, various types of unusual paints, neon and metal, they all excite me. Having just had a solo show that highlighted my neon works, I am currently concentrating on my spirit animals and urban sprawl series. in addition, I am currently working on a new library of electronica music. Biography Howard Weliver has been interested in the arts his entire life. Graduating from Stephen f. Austin State University in 1992 with a B.F.A. in Advertising Design with a minor in photography, and then a M.A. In Design Communications, he has spent the majority of the last 25 years in Commercial Arts. Originally from Texas, he discovered Taos, New Mexico after taking a 11 year break from art to start a restaurant/bar branding company (Nosh Creative) while traveling with his wife, Lauren, in their motorhome (Nosh Bus). Currently he is making the permanent transition from commercial art to fine art. Through this metamorphosis, he has incorporated some of his influences (Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Jean Basquiat and Banksy) into several unique artistic styles.
