I've been an incredibly shy kid. Growing up shy can be quite challenging, and because I am still struggling today I drew some comics about being the shy kid.

Scroll down to check them out!

The same happens in corporate meeting rounds. You start preparing how to introduce yourself. "Hello I am X Y, I work as ABC....No: hello, X Y my name, currently working on ABC. No. Ok, still two people before I need to go. Wait, why is the person next to me leaving the room? Everyone eyeing me now? Oh, It is my turn..." – "Herrg Err Err, I X Y am, uh, er, working also here, yes, er, thank you."

It took a year of offering to get my son's girlfriend to accept my offers of after school snacks- in contrast, his best (male) friend knows where I keep the rice cakes that I buy just for him. I was the kid that would be dying of hunger at friend's houses- I hate to think that our guests are uncomfortable in any way

I have always been exactly like this. Most of the time, people find me unfriendly and weird. I have almost no friends. I wish people knew that I was just shy but always willing to give a hand when they need help :'(

This is me too, I was way more shy when I was younger but have gotten more outgoing as I got older. Although when I'm in large groups I tend to just stay quiet and not talk, people always ask me if I'm okay or if I'm mad but I'm just content with observing everyone and staying out of the spotlight.

Sadly, as soon as somebody ask me to talk i'm been told to shut up because my opinions doesn't match to the people around me. Acceptance is a lie; people don't like the ones that are different.

People always say I'm arrogant, I've pretty much gotten used to it

My whole life is this. And let's not forget when we're in the bathroom and over hear girls talking about how stuck up you are and that "she thinks she's so much better than everyone". When in fact you have NEVER said that (or anything for that matter) or thought that. Actually the opposite- but if that's the way they talk about and judge you when you say NOTHING! Why the F*ck would you ever open your mouth to let those people know you?

People used to think I was a snob. But they loved me when it came to Hide n' Seek and any other game that required silence

Hah I had no problem confronting a guy too tall even for me (I'm 180cm) at the gas station, because I saw him hitting a woman he was with. But speaking up for myself... 🙄

The last 3 frames is pretty much anyone/everyone who practices the least bit of introspection.

Why is it socially acceptable to say “why are you so quiet?” But not socially acceptable to say “you talk to much”? Extraversion has become the norm across humans that people put down introverts and shy people.

Exactly! I was shocked when a person that I knew for a while told me they thought I was arrogant 😓

This is sooo me, but most of the time I don't care anymore. People think it's weird, but I'm just shy and try to get to know them first. That's why I'm a good listener! :D

So true. But most of them don't tell it to you so you can't know. And if one does, it's so terrifying that you cannot explain what really happens :(

Add to this also polite behaviour, like, waiting for the person to let them finish because you don't want to interrupt their talking, and there you go! Mute forever. *sigh*
