A Childhood Friend Invited Me To Spend A Weekend In Ukraine, Here Are My 72 Hours In Kyiv
One of my "childhood" friends was from Ukraine. She came as an exchange student for a year and 20-some-odd years later here we are, still friends visiting each other when we can. In 2017 I moved from California to Denmark which made visiting me from Ukraine pretty easy. After a couple of visits, I got the "come to Kyiv" offer from my friend. So I packed up for a quick weekend in the city that blew my mind.
An amazing, whirlwind experience; Kyiv is a vibrant city filled with golden light and intensely beautiful architecture. Ukraine's history, especially recently, is tragic and difficult to learn and hear about... but I promise you, coming to Ukraine will give you a perspective on the world you never thought possible. My 72 hours in Kyiv is the time I will cherish forever and I'm excited to return, hopefully, soon.
Here are some of the images I took while in Kyiv, Ukraine. I hope you enjoy them and if you'd like to see more please visit my website!

My favourite reason why is because music is best to be heard alone for some people
Wow, I never knew about the Beauty that Ukraine could offer until now who knew that there are more places to look for beauty than just New york or Paris.
I stayed about a block away from here. Walked thru Independence square everyday. I, like you LOVED Kyiv! I miss it everyday and want to go back soooo bad. I'm from the US, btw.
Aren't the winters there windy and cold? I wonder how they keep these places warm.
Wow! This is a very nostalgic view. Reminds me of the 90s, as the (my tiny) world was still in order. Even the elders are just in place. I like it!
for some reason i thought that was the statue of liberty back there XD
now this is cool, the way the architects lined up the buildings like this, it makes me think of grocery store isles (but for giants)
That green text on left pillar says "War is going". I'm very sad, Ukrainian people really have to struggle in life...
So many in one spot, it contrast to the beautiful churches that are seen.
a bit of explanation of what the building are would make them more interesting, other than that nice pics
These are beautiful! I love how you show every side of the (city?) :) ^ ^
