    Too US-centric again. Dr Who started in 1963 in the UK, and we've never had Welcome back Kotter.

    Some of these very much depend where in the world you live, as not everything was popular at the same time in every country. And I am annoyed at the walkman question, as they came out in the late 70's, but the question asked when they became popular. There was only a very short window from the walkman to the discman, and I had a discman in the mid-80's.

    Right? I grew up on the East Coast, and the stupid glass blocks were everywhere in the 70's - guess it took a while to infect the rest of the country, lol
