Meet Texas native Julie H., also known as The Burning Lotus – a 56-year-old model who has been taking provocative pictures, celebrating the sex appeal, of herself for a while now.

“I posted my images initially as a dare to myself ― again, an affirmation of existence,” Julie said. But after posting a side picture of herself holding up her black bra and showing the full body tattoo, Julie became pretty popular online. “The ‘senior ink’ image caught fire in a random way that still confuses and overwhelms me,” she said. Ever since Julie’s Tumblr audience has been growing and she now has over 92k followers that admire her piercings and tattoos and the way she portrays herself. She was even voted #3 in Bored Panda’s list of tattooed elderly people. An older woman can be sexy no matter what her age is, and Julie definitely proves so! You can see Julie’s photos below.

Kudos to her for feeling confident in her skin. However, sexy comes in many different ways, and you don't necessarily have to be naked, and posing "provocatively" to be sexy. Sometimes sexy can be a look in the eye, eloquent speech, sex appeal (not to be misconstrued with wardrobe), etc. Sexy comes in many different forms and many different ages.

56 is NOT, I repeat, Not old. Is she a little saggy? Yes, so what. I feel the tattoos will not age well. In the future, those tatts will show the sags and bags worse than plain skin. I have seen this in person and it's not pretty. But people will do what they want to do as is their right.

Exactly. Best thing she did was to mange her weight. She looks a tat older in the face but most white female do. Depend if they smoke or amount of sun they get. See this all the time in Texas probably a good 65% of females all tatted up like this. From all racial groups. Guess with in that age group may not find people that comfortable with their bodies or still have this type of body image. Guess is the main point. But this in not rocket science. I'm an RN who has had hundreds of older both men & women with extensive tattooing. The looser your skin gets with the aging process, the less these tattoos looks like works of art . Folds of skin or adipose tissue breaks up the designs , &, if a tattoo was poorly done to begin with, the designs become blurred & muddy. Julie H. has good quality tattoos. I'm sure I will be voted down. That's O.K.

The reason that shes remarkable is that women her age are supposed to disappear into tje background and not be wanton and sexually aggressive and confident. She clearly is abd thats great,that's what Ill be doing at that age too.I dont understand why women who dont want to sexualize themselves hate on women who do. According to this, EVEN at 56 I may be lucky enough to be...I have seen women and men in 60's, 70's and 80's who still have that something that makes your heart skip. But she is exactly what the American society finds beautiful...slim, white body with no visible flaws, which makes it less risky to post her photos. And she is more likely go get positive feedback. However, not many people have this type of body. She makes very odd statements about giving people hope..." I bring them hope about the aging process and/or they are no longer frightened about growing old" which means they hope they can keep their prefect bodies? It's all very strange to me. There are so many more important aspects to life then a " perfectly imperfect" body.

OMG I think something just flew out my window!! Oh wait. It is everything women have been trying to prove since... forever. This is very, very frustrating to see.
